its pretty clear that ol' slick willy had decided its natty or bust. he was regretting leaving dickinson in the UH game when it was already a rout and then this happens. would honestly be surprised if any of the starting 5 get off of their butts the entire game. its time to rest up and focus on the real prize. this week is merely a small time losery distraction. if isu is getting super horny about it then that should tell you everything you need to know. #wingsup

Will conference tourneys become the new bowl game that players "opt out" of?

There is plenty at stake in a conference tourney. Even if you consider a Conference Tournament Title to be meaningless, the outcome definitely has an impact on NCAA seeding, which is one of the best predictors of success.

Get the eff out of my conferencee, you castrated cows.
I think one turnover the second half, a push off on N'G. That makes a big difference.

I mean my god, they were getting 4 or 5 points in this game?  I honestly hope they don't ruin locking in a 5 seed.
Fifteen minutes later, when the Kansas locker room opened its doors to the media, the Jayhawks were still crying. Literally, bawling. All of them. I've never seen anything like it, and I've seen devastated college locker rooms -- after losses in the Final Four, the national championship game -- ever

Is it possible that Bill did not survive his condition last year and they just trotted out a body double? Team just has not been the same since that moment.

For missing their top 2 players, I have to say I was impressed even though they lost.  The talent is young but it can be molded by Bill.   This was a salty Cincy team.  It really could have been another 30 point beat down but they kept it to 20 in an Kansas environment.

This is the first time since 1919 that KU has lost back-to-back games by 20 points or more. Quite a legacy Bill is leaving.

There was some quote, I wish I could find it, from Bill after the adidas stuff was settled where he implied that it was on now and that they would be getting more talent going forward. That’s definitely not what I see on the floor, but I think they have another good recruiting class coming in.

It’s pretty wild that 22-10 (10-8) is so relatively bad for them, but they haven’t had a season approaching this since 1999-00 under Roy when they finished 5th in the conference at 11-5 and lost in the second round in KC to finish the reg season 22-8 (helped of course by three wins against a hapless ksu team).

They were a 9 seed that season, and lost to No. 1 seed Duke in the second round.

It was the second in a pair of two “down” years under Roy, but they were young and talented, and the young core of that team would grow into a group that would lead them to back-to-back F4s before Roy left for UNC.

There is none of that with this Self squad. This is the end for them in terms of dominance, at least under Self.

I didn’t think Self was long for KU after the heart problems last year. Plus, like Saban and many others, this new era of open transfers and NIL (essentially pay for play) has created a landscape that if I’m Bill Sellf I don’t have the stomach for.

Will KU rebound and be respectable and a strong national contender at times going forward? Probably, they have as good a pedigree and track record of any program in the country. But this phenomenal 35ish (40 years of you include Larry B) year run under Roy and Self is over.

They’re still in the lead pack, but they’re in the pack now, especially with Houston and Arizona coming in.
