can you imagine typing this sentence with a straight face because i can't

"there is a zero sum chance that there aren't salacious, damning and possibly illegal texts"
It means that the chances are:

18% damning
-31% salacious
+13% illegal
_________________

0 sum chance

This checks out.  I added those up and they do indeed equal zero.

Millions of dollars already spent and believe you me, the alumni have let it be known that there is no dollar amount that is too much to spend on this. We’re talking scorched earth, exhaust every resource at our disposal, fight it until they pry it from our cold dead hands. Everything that can be done is being done.

I bet they get a 1 year post season ban, 5 years of probation (the max), and the loss of 2 - 3 scholarships for a year or two.  If the NCAA really wants to send a message, they'll make the post season ban multiple years.

Yeah. I had been thinking 2 year ps ban would be required, based on the OSU sanctions. But man, it still feels harsh.

No way the NCAA would do that. They would lose way too much money when a third of the country doesn't care about the tourney because KU isn't in it. It's why viewership usually drops off considerably after the round of 32 or Sweet 16.

If you opened a twitter account, follow KU accounts, tweeted this, and tag this with #kubball you would absolutely get a minimum of a hundred likes.

https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/ncaa-infractions-case-against-kansas-set-to-be-resolved-by-independent-investigative-panel/

Quote
The IARP, created last year in response to recommendations from the Commission on College Basketball following the FBI's investigation into bribery and corruption in the sport, aims to minimize perceived conflicts of interest in the adjudication of complicated cases. Well, Kansas' case is certainly complicated. The program is facing a lack of institutional control allegation, while Hall of Fame coach Bill Self is facing a responsibility charge stemming from the FBI's investigation into bribery and corruption in the sport.

Rulings from the IARP cannot be appealed, and the investigative body has yet to set a precedent for how lenient or strict it will be with college basketball programs facing infractions cases. Both Memphis and NC State have yet to receive rulings on their respective cases.

A independent review HAS to be good for Kansas, because the NCAA absolutely hates their guts at this point.

Could be good or bad. It's nice that the committee isn't bound by any actual or perceived precedent, but who knows what they'll do.

Assuming there is basketball, the big 12 needs KU basketball. So I'm hoping the squawks kick this things ass.

I have no idea if this is good or bad for KU but the fact the ruling can't be appealed has to make them slightly nervous.

KU has challenged this thing every step up the way. Who's to say that if the ruling is unfavorable, they won't challenge that as well (even though it's supposed to be "final"). They already had Self threatening to sue the NCAA - what's the difference?

My grandma is in her 90's,  and is prolly the hugest KU fan that ever lived.  I'd like for her to see a great Hawks basketball team in the post season this year and in the years to come.   :don'tcare:   :comeatme: :tsc:

Rumblings that a show cause is on the slate just before NCAA staff furloughs begin.

Beaty has taught me to love these for the very public discovery process that will hopefully torch KU and the NCAA
