The other wild part is that this is an actual thoughts and prayers moment. Sure you could increase preparedness and work harder to address climate change, but freak weather events are just going to happen. It’s not like gun violence where you could knock out a bunch of deaths with super simple measures.

It is the epitome of politicizing a tragedy.
