I think it’s hard to be a social media company that has spent years towing a delicate line dealing with constant pressure over allowing the spread of misinformation (a lot of which I think was undeserved) and then see an insurrection and multiple deaths resulting from the same thing.
If their goal is to subdue conservative leaders I think the bans are very likely to backfire. But if they’re actually measures to avoid being complicit in organizing violent attacks, then it makes perfect sense to me.
