Looks like I'll do something off here.  Just hooked up the MLife to get that gold status.  Using points for the more expensive Saturday night seems feasible and any number of those places will meet my needs.

Aria seems to be a consensus gE pick, but I'll take all input.  Mandalay's pool does look fun.

Next generation of vegasPAK'rs, where you all staying?

I'd rather stay at the crappy Caesars or Paris than stay at either end of the strip. drunken walkability is a key factor in my booking a place.

EMAWgeddon may already be committed to Paris with her crew,

I stayed there for free once as well. wasn't bad. I'd definitely stay there for free again.

Mandalay's on that list.  I won't be mad at you if you expand on your opinion a bit.

There won't be much time between arrival and the gamePAK to do too much (not sure how long it'll take to get that pak head back tattoo outside of Harrah's), so the pool won't be a huge factor then.  Saturday will be the big skin cancer day.  A little on Sunday before 3pm departure.  Basically just comes down to how much better the MB pool is over anything else on the list when weighed vs. the other options that'll probably be better in all other non-pool aspects.

Here's my sources thus far:

Will it be easier for me, The Ed, et al to get a table with kelly as our waitress if we stay at Bellagio?

It will be easier for you to get a table at Hyde if emawgeddon is in Vegas with at least 5 other girls (highly unlikely).  Not sure on the set up though but that might get too crowded if you add in 3 guys to that mix.

Sometimes you can find deals by paying your concierge $20 to get you a table.  A riskier move is to just show up, walk to the front of the line and try palming a couple few $20's to the door guy, otherwise it looks like bottle service reservation which will be like $150-200/person.

I'll consider it.  It'd be an extra $150 plus whatever another hotel night costs, I kind of want to have Monday home to recover and catch up on work, and normally that 3rd night is kind of overkill.  But I'm open to it, we'll see.

T-Y, KK.  Of course that Bellagio line at the end of my long serious post seeking further input from you on whether Mandalay Bay pool offsets the distance and less eliteness of Aria was a joke.

See, you guys probably won't be much fun come Sunday afternoon.  When you know, PM me or post where you're all staying and what's on the agenda.  Changing to Monday is easy now and I'm sure could be done last minute there if necessary.

Welp.

I like to walk the strip and with the walking/monorail thing it is really not a big difference.  I think the pool is worth the 20 minute walk/monorail to the heart of the strip, but that may not be worth it to you.  City Center/Aira is obviously in the Center of the strip.

Hmmm... going out Thursday would actually get me $100 back to apply to the higher Monday flight home or for a future trip back.  Another 1-2 nights of hotel, but we could all go on The Ed's tour on Friday!
