Might be there before but going sometime in April for sure. Looking for someplace new(er) to go to, preferably in mid-strip somewhere.  Been a few years since last time I was there.  Looking for what place has some nice set-up suites now  :gocho:

Cosmo (marriott points) or Aria.  Gansevoort (whatever they will call it now) maybe open by then.

Welp, maybe we can go to mexico again for the bachelor party.

http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/good-samaritan-killed-2-others-injured-shooting-strip

Quote
Police said the shooting suspect, Benjamin Frazier, 41, of Las Vegas, opened fire about 5:45 a.m. in Bally’s, 3645 Las Vegas Boulevard South at Flamingo Road, after an argument at the entrance to Drai’s After Hours nightclub.

Frazier asked club security whether he could go in and preview the crowd before paying a $30 cover charge. Police said he decided to pay the cover and went inside but came out shortly afterward demanding a refund because the club wasn’t full.

...

Drai’s was moved temporarily to Bally’s earlier this year after Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall was closed to be converted into a 188-room luxury hotel-casino.

The club operated at Bill’s, which was formerly known as the Barbary Coast, as Drai’s After Hours, a late-night, early morning club and restaurant one level below the casino. The club is expected to return to its former location when Caesars Entertainment finishes its makeover next year. Operator Victor Drai is also developing a 65,000-square-foot rooftop pool area with a day club and nightclub facility.

This wouldn't have happened at Drai's in Bill's.  :frown:

Aria or Cosmo. Both are newer and pretty swanky.

holy crap i'm planning a bach party and came across this and i just want to say that i ran into Frenchy last summer and i was drunk and i spent too much money. she was pretty gross, but once i googled her i kind of just got caught up in the moment. ok carry on.

If you are going for a bachelor party any decently nice hotel on the strip will work, you will spend 0 time in your room besides sleeping.

I'll be out there in early march and again in May for bachelor parties, WOOT WOOT.

I've stayed at the MGM condo things located behind MGM the past 2 times. Were very cheap and super nice but its about a 15 minute walk from your room to the main strip.

Will do something else this time just because.

I don't think choice of hotel on its own is too relevant to your vegas experience.  If you have an idea what you're going to want to be doing, certain hotels could be better for the situation.

think I posted somewhere last year in March about the march madness watch parties. we did harrahs, and it was a blast. would definitely do something like that if youre there for it... im sure there are better options than harrahs. I think it was like $80 but it was unlimited booze and cheap food. they were all over the place.
I think what my friend Mitch is trying to say is that true love is blind.

we did Hoops & Hops at Cosmo. You get a wrist band and they had all kinds of all you can drink craft beer and booze. huge room with a giant screen in each corner and then 55 inch tvs spaced out between them. would put the audio on whatever game was close or coming to a close. put up a betting station right outside of the room. tons of round tables in the middle and theater seating along the outsides. I don't remember what it cost but it was super cheap for what you got and I think I saw they doubled the cost of it the next year. it was good to do for a day but I started to get cabin fevor and needed to get outside or at least into the sun by the end of it.

yeah, this sounds a little nicer than harrahs, which only offered coors and miller lite. I would do a different place if I were to do it again, probably a bit nicer. The smaller betting lines alone are almost worth the price.

there were these smaller rooms on the outside that you could pay like $200/person for where you got like 3 screens and have your own waitress to get you beer dressed all slutty and stuff but it didn't seem worth the money to me. it was fun to be in a big room with tons of people all rooting one way or the other.

location is the #1 thing to consider in Vegas imo. stayed south strip once and it was awful.

last couple times we've stayed 1 night downtown. so fun. :D

I would go nuts in the sports book.  Like irresponsibly-max-out-creiditcards-mortgage-my-house crazy on betting the first two rounds.  I intentionally never have been for that reason.

the thing is though, even if you suck complete ass at picking teams you are going to win roughly half of them so you'll just be out 5% of whatever you bet (assuming you bet a shitload of games and don't have some really weird betting ability where you can pick out losers at a really high rate)

A table of myself and a bunch of bros got in troubs at Delmonico for cheering too loudly to a Kentucky score on our phones at dinner one night during the NCAA opening rounds.  :shy:
