If Texas loses on Friday we shouldn’t play any starters. The game would mean nothing.

Imagine winning the Big 12 Championship and Sugar Bowl but having it marred by losing to the squawks.

Winning the Dr Pepper is a million times more important than beating KU

Imagine Deuce or Felix getting injured playing a regular season game with no implications other than bragging rights.

But there certainly are implications in terms of in-state recruiting.  And keeping donors happy affects the health of the program as well.  Not putting a serious effort into winning this game would be a huge mistake.

I think those recruits would care 1000x more about a Big 12 championship and Sugar Bowl appearance. But sure, there is a chance we lose both of those games AND the KU game, which would really suck.

UT could lose to anyone. They are not very consistent.
Definitely. Given that, there is a not terrible chance that we will have secured a Sugar Bowl berth before our game even kicks off.

The most important game of the year is Saturday. I feel no shame in circling the KU game every year. Snyder understood that, and Dlew and the DU’s from his year can tell you to what length Snyder was willing to go in pursuit of victory against KU. Realignment has shown us how important rivalries are.  I want to be a college football fan in a world where the game against your in-state rival is the most important game of the year.

yes. looking forward to ku fans on twitter resorting to the "why do you guys care so much about this game lol" cope. should be the goal every year

Imagine sitting players for ku and still finishing the season with 3 straight losses.

I don't think anyone should sit.  But if it's locked up Friday, Deuce among others should definitely see a reduced roll.  But don't think Kleinman will. Hell Deuce was playing in a blowout a few weeks ago.

This/the game plan is just throw bombs the entire first half and go up by like 4 TDs and bring orange slices and capri suns for the second half

There's not even any KU billboards nearby to paint giant purple dongs on anymore, is there?

I mean they have the second most efficient offense in the conference, I hope anyone who's been paying attention won't squirm.

Anybody remember the Dillonses of the 90s, when the respective schools’ newspapers would have guest columnists from the other school on the Friday before the game In kind of a oredictive point-counterpoint? They’d trade Snob Hill/Silo Tech barbs and whatnot. That always got me SO JACKED FOR THE GUV’S CUP.

I have been paying attention and will squirm unless we are up by 50+.

SkiBe the only thing that got me more jacked was when the pregame Jumbotron video would start with some deprecating thing like Willie would get sucker punched by the other teams goons or they’d show someone from ESPN saying they think the cats have no chance in this game

But oh man when willie would drive his little car down the ramp you could tell he was so mad and was ready to get revenge and you know what? He did. At midfield. Ev-er-y time

Can not see this being close. Anyone see how Texas controlled the ground? Klein will run the Snyder offense and it will be a laugher. 45 to 13 sounds right. Kli knows part of the reason Snyder is loved has to do with the massive beatdowns of KU
