It's amazing that people don't understand that their mail in ballots and pretty much any paper ballots aren't counted unless they have to be.

People are now finding this out and freaking out.

yeah i guess i should clarify my question

in 2010 midterms turnout was even D-R
in 2014 midterms turnout was even D-R
in 2018 midterms D's turned out 4% more than R's

is this (the D turnout, not the election results) the start of a trend or just trump effect?

It’s a bit confusing to me cause I kept hearing how Dems are notoriously bad about turning out for midterms vs Republicans. Would not have guessed turnout would be even in 2010 and 2014.

Oh, man. It's in the left column directly below a bunch of instructions on how to complete the ballot. Amazing. What a eff up.

1. It’s really not that hard to read.
2. If they didn’t care enough to realize they hadn’t voted for senate, I don’t feel bad that it didn’t get counted.

A machine issue would be pretty messed up though.

registered 'pubs turnout at a higher rate; there are more registered dems.  i didn't know that the effects cancelled each other out in 2010 and 2014, though.

Republicans have to have better turnout for the numbers to be even.

Like 99% of dem voters are dumb AND lazy, so I'm not sure why this is surprising.

If a pub did this, they'd be accused of voter suppression ad nauseum
