that is not my understanding of the term. in my mind, they have slightly different connotations, but no difference in intensity. usually, i would say, the choice of either term would provide more information about the issuer than the subject.

I personally don't have a problem with using that word on here and at the same time thinking a person in the public eye should get a rash of crap for using it towards someone who they weren't even engaging with directly on a topic....but the thread was fun.
