I know this is probably football board material, but was at a wedding in Lawrence Saturday and they had a sign on the side of their stadium that said the Stadium Club, or whatever they are calling it is still set for completion by this fall.  Still looks like a crummy high school stadium though and no dirt has been moved or anything.  Must be banking on Extreme Home Makeover Stadium edition to come knocking I guess.

Iowa State is building a new rec center on the west side next to the current west side rec facilities (State Gym/ Beyer Hall for those familiar with ISU Campus) including a new pool (with slides), exercise equipment, and general use gymnasiums, to compliment the facilities in State Gym and Beyer Hall on the West side, and the Lied Recreation Building on the East side which has numerous racquetball courts, ginormous "general use area," weight facilities, and indoor track used for Iowa State track teams/meets.

That ISU facility looks pretty rad (I'm bringing "rad" back).  Would be nice if they could find room in the budget for a ceiling in the women's office.  Probably could have sacrificed some of the chairs in the briefing room- the Mayor only has like 8 players anyway.

It's a practice facility, it is complete, and is state of the art in every way possible. I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
