Debates wouldn’t matter at all

I agree but it may have been a slight risk if it was just Bernie and Joe.

Slight risk of what?

Biden doing something crazy or offensive like dropping a hard R. Better chance with a smaller crowd

I'm honestly wondering if I'll ever vote dem in a presidential election ever again. I feel like I have no place in the current makeup of American politics. If the Republican Party ever took their agenda back from MAGA, the NRA, and Southern Baptists, I and others like me could be had. It seems as if the democrats have completely abandoned trying to have any type of distinctive agenda, literally threw two elections away and alienated voters 18-40 just because they only wanted to beat trump. He hurt the feelings of democratic insiders that he stopped supporting and inviting to parties.

eff everything, including bitch ass Jim Clyburn.

Good for Democrats for seeing that there is no better agenda right now than beating Trump.

If elected, Biden's gonna get the band back together!

Obama for Secretary of State.

Different side of the same coin for me.  Two party system makes it really hard/coincidental to vote for the candidate that aligns with your views on the handful of issues you care most about.

Like, he thought he was too special to drop out last year and everyone just went along with it. Now, he's pulling the same crap. I think Biden should just tell him no thanks on the debate on the basis that he's already won.

Yeah, Biden should declare victory and move on to Trump. Also it would be so delicious to see the Bernie Bro reactions to it.

I guess Biden can do what people like dumbfuck Jim Carville are asking for and essentially ignore the rest of the primaries but that would to two things.

1. Lose the high ground when criticizing pubs about disenfranchising voters, which is a really big deal during statewide elections. I suppose there's nothing stopping them from being giant hypocrites. Some of these establishment democrats have changed the rules of engagement, winning has become more important than anything else.

2. They will ensure that Biden would lose a significant, needed component of the voters in December. If you're a Biden supporter I'd want Bernie in the primaries as long as possible. They should be begging him to stay until Biden reaches the delegate magic number. There are enough voters who think the democratic establishment have a thumb on the scale, that needs to be mitigated as much as possible.

I just think it will be good for everyone involved if someone tells Bernie and his overinflated ego to eff off. Including Bernie.

Like, which Bernie voters does Biden NEED? The ones not voting for Biden regardless?

Hmmmm interesting take. Even if you think Bernie owes the democratic party anything, he definitely doesn't, his supporters need to be heard. I thought the democratic party used to give a damn about that.

Like, which Bernie voters does Biden NEED? The ones not voting for Biden regardless?

He needs as many as he can get. If beating Trump is apparently the goal, how stupid would it be to just ignore those voters? You can't actually think disenfranchising voters is a winning philosophy. The exit polls said 50% of Sanders voters wouldn't automatically support the democratic nominee, despite some amazingly dumb hot takes, they will be well served to shrink that number as much as they can, and not grow it.

To put it another way, in order to win the general election, Biden needs to turn out some people Hillary failed to in a few key states. How is Bernie helping Biden with these? Suburban voters? White rural voters? Black voters? Biden is kicking Bernie's ass with all of them.

Is the criticism that Biden isn't a good candidate because he doesn't appeal to 100% of the people who might ever vote for the Democratic nominee? That's totally unrealistic.

He (and maybe more importantly, the party) might want to do something to appeal to young voters :dunno:

Young voters are fool's gold.

Might not matter to Biden as much as the party if they're thinking long-term. they won't be young voters forever

Unfortunately, and I really wish it wasn't this way, but today's young progressives are tomorrow's moderate and conservative voters.

It's just pragmatic for an older person heavily invested in the market to not vote for economic disruption.

will millennials be as heavily invested in the market as boomers or even gen x'ers?
