Wow! If WSU had stayed in MVC, Loyola wouldn’t even be in tourney.

It's a good example of why judging a coach by NCAA tournament success is dumb.

Conference finish over several years is the best way IMO

i would think you should account for program quality.

to judge a coach off a few games in march is really unfair, there's so much luck involved. but people value heroes and drama

Absolutely. In the Big 12, a good conference finish should lead to a good seed which will lead to NCAA wins. oscar under performed his seed grossly once and the rest of the time he's basically played to his seed. 1 coin flip seed win, 1 coin flip seed loss, 1 poor seed loss. The key is to get a 6 seed or better (7-10, 8-9 are coin flip games IMO).

Sounds right. oscar has done a great job turning around the mess he inherited from Coach Weber after 2015 to get to this point though.

So is that to say Frank finished 3.4/12 as compared to oscar at 5/10?

55-53 (oscar) vs 50-32 (frank)

i'm divided on whether you should account for conference quality.  i think there's a valid argument either way.

Guys which team in the field had the coolest chant or fight song? UH has a song called womp womp and it looks like they have a lot of fun with it. I believe the correct lyric is "talkin' 'bout the cougars!" But the surly students will sometimes say "the mother effin cougars!" And then I imagine they high five and crush domestic light lagers

the refs forgot that you can give the ball to florida all you want, but you're still dependent on them hitting a shot.

NCAA tournament seed is also a decent way to evaluate
