Yeah, losing to Virginia would not be embarrassing or bad in the slightest, UMBC, well, I wouldn't call it embarrassing, they just beat the overall 1 seed, but I feel like everyone is on their side for this one. It's like trying to stand in the way of freight train and everyone wants to see us get run over. Hopefully we play as well as we did today Sunday.

Absolutely. In the Big 12, a good conference finish should lead to a good seed which will lead to NCAA wins. oscar under performed his seed grossly once and the rest of the time he's basically played to his seed. 1 coin flip seed win, 1 coin flip seed loss, 1 poor seed loss. The key is to get a 6 seed or better (7-10, 8-9 are coin flip games IMO).

Local 3rd grader chingnon was fishing in a pond behind his house. He knew the odds were stacked against him. It was kinda cold, all his friends decided to stay in and play super NES, but chingnon wasn't deterred. After an hour and a half without even a nibble, he started to lose hope. He set his pole on the bank and placed a rock on it to keep it in place while he went to take a pee. Just then, the bobber went under. Chingnon raced back to his pole just seconds before it got pulled into the pond and would have gotten him grounded for at least a week with no tv. His battle with the fish had to have lasted for "1, maybe 2 minutes" but he took a deep breath, remembered his training, and set the hook before reeling in the monster.
According to the youngster, it was "definitely the biggest bass I've ever caught" but then, his true heroism shined through. Instead of keeping his trophy, he removed the hook and tearfully released it back into the pond. "It was the right thing to do. I...I just had to".
Upon completion of 3rd grade, chingnon says he is excited to go to overnight camp for this first time this summer, and is confident he won't need to call his parents in the middle of the night because he's homesick.

Izzo got so out coached today, it wasn't funny. Some dude who got 43 minutes in 18 conference games played 23 minutes today at the 4. He was a glorified passer at the high post. He also wasn't a big part of these Offensive boards. 23 minutes 1-2 FG 0-1 FT. 2 ORs, 0 DRs. Izzo also had his starting 5 on the bench for the last 10 minutes. That guy was 4-5 on 2pt. Rest of the team was 5-24.
Starting 4 man and nba lottery pick Jackson was pretty useless today, but Izzo just refused to play 3 shooters and Bridges at the 4. Cuse plays a 6'8 guy at the 3 and their 4 is 6'9 195ish, so no matchup problems on D going smaller.

Yeah, I'm as big a kenpom guy as anyone, but there has been some weird stuff there this year. And I agree that for NCAA purposes no single metric should get all the weight.

Hey Nova shot the ball really well from 3. Going 18-40 on the Final 4 stage is impressive for sure.
Nova has attempted 34+ shots from 3pt in 11 games. They had one bad 8-36 3pt game. The other 10 games they made 43% combined. Team can shoot and if you don't make them uncomfortable, giving up uncontested 3's, it can be a big problem.

Nova is just plain good at putting the ball through a hoop. Since that is the ultimate object of the game they end up being pretty darn good.
