What would you do anyway? Awkwardly kneel behind a ten year old kid?

I hate Sunil Gulati with the fire of a billion suns.

The end.

did something new happen?

Nah, not new, just a reminder.
U.S. Soccer's policy requiring players stand for national anthem still in place
http://www.espnfc.com/united-states/story/3214195/us-soccers-policy-requiring-players-stand-for-national-anthem-still-in-place

i have absolutely zero issue that U.S. Soccer has a policy requiring players to stand for the national anthem. Makes sense that when you're representing your country you'll stand during the national anthem. The NBA has this same rule.

I absolutely will not argue this with people, I refuse, but I do have a question. Do you agree with these dudes having their medals stripped?

no i do not. And if any player representing the national soccer teams chose to protest i would have absolutely zero issue with that as well. Companies and Corporations should be free to put in rules for employees, and employees can make the decision to follow or not and deal with any consequences.

you should have to observe the national anthem if you represent in international competition, it's international competition. eternal respect to anyone with a legitimate grievance who chooses that time to demonstrate despite that policy, history will vindicate them.

So you think there should be a policy and consequences but you don't agree with the enforcement of said consequences?

Essentially the same reply I had for Scott. I'm confused as to how you would hold the protestor in high esteem while calling for the protestor to receive negative consequences for doing so.

I also don't understand how or why the anthem played during international competition makes a difference. The anthem is exactly the same, help me to understand the distinction.

Just because i don't agree with any penalties and consequences, doesn't mean i don't believe that corporations, federations, and committees can't have rules and consequences. Would I want NBA players or USMNT/USWNT players to get fined for this type of protest? No. Do I have a problem with with these bodies having the rules in place? No.

I don't know why the anthem is played before a match between two American teams. I understand its role in a match between two countries. That's the difference and a representative should be expected to observe according to tradition.

protesting in the NFL: a family having a heated argument at the dinner table
protesting at the olympics: causing a scene in front of all the other families at church

I'm sure this isn't breaking news by now but Benny was called into the last round of qualifiers with Zusi and MB. No more Fabian :billdance:

Yeah, I like the roster, but let’s see how this team looks on the field. I liked the last roster but we all know how well those games looked.

Gameday boys and girls, win and we are probably in, lose and we are probably out. Draw, probably playing Syria to go to Russia.

It's about time we had a game that was dominated like this. This should be the expectation for every game (unless we are playing someone good).
