Friendly vs Venezuela's B is about 15 minutes in. Nothing of note has happened yet except for Dempsey falling down a ton.

I'll be interested what team Mexico sends, very shortly after the Confederations Cup. We really need to win this Gold Cup this year because it locks us into at worst, another 1 game playoff with the 2019 winner for the 2021 Confed Cup.

Also Puli scored a nice goal to tie it up.

After watching that flailing offense, bad passes, poor touches, horrid set piece defense still, consider me worried for the next two.  I know that bradley has been a mainstay forever, but we need to start finding his replacement.  I'm struggling to find anything meaningful he's done lately besides his 2 or 3 bad giveaways/game.  Will be interesting to see what the gold cup roster brings.  Few guys in there getting their first shot.   Surprised by gonzalez since just a week or two ago he said he was all Mexico.

I think it is safe to say that whenever dempsey gets the goals record, it will just be a placeholder for pulisic.  Barring some career ending injury.

US Soccer needs to stop with this "respect the rivalry" bullshit. El Tri's players and fans don't respect us, they hate us, they don't give a eff about respecting us.

This ref situation is only getting worse. Also glad to see FIFA's threats on yelling hate speech for goal kicks has paid off.

Also I'm usually pretty anti-Bradley, but holyshit was that a nice shot.

These refs are getting to the point where we need an out of conference ref to get a straight game.

This game is going to get really bad with the ref openly supporting Mexico.  That no call on Yedlin giving Mex a corner will only make things worse.

Beasley should have had help, but the defense was too slow getting back.  Not all his fault.

Oh I don't think was totally at fault.  Honestly I was calling for an intentional foul from Acosta in the middle of the field to stem that tide.  But Beasely did pretty much everything wrong.  Allowing a player to cut in like, and if you're going to do that, having your hips the wrong way.  Allowing him to get 1 or 2 strides in front of you crossing the middle, just horrid play.

Wasn't all Beasley's fault, but we have to have an option better than him on the left side, especially knowing there was going to be some rotation between the two games.

MOTM - Cameron for me.  He was massive in disrupting their attacks.

I found a lot of bright spots last night.  I really liked what we were doing up top and were a hair away so many times of getting more goals in both halves. Pulisic needed constant attention from more than one defender all night and the one time he got space in the second half he got off a pretty good attempt.  Wood looked good, and I'm sorry, showed why Altadore is part of the old guard.  He, Wood, plays back so much better when needed and looks to me to be so much more versatile.  I appreciate what players like Beasley have done for us in the past, but it's time to keep him in a limited role at best.

For everyone saying this morning the US was lucky, you could find as many, if not more things to say about Mexico being lucky to get a point.  From Bradley's second half attempt, to Pulisic's run of play, and finally, and for me most importantly, Mexico not playing with 10 for 85' because of crap refereeing showed the US held their own pretty damn well.

Altidore and Wood play their positions completely differently and for how Jozy plays he's still one of the best in the world. He is a big body that you play the ball to with his back to the goal. He holds the ball up for others to make runs. Jozy has a role that no other American has right now, although I think fat J-Mo will eventuality be the same. I think if Jozy gains form and keeps it for a year, he and Puli will be awesome together next summer.
