What's up with the long delay before games?

What do you mean?
It's like 3-4 days in between games, right? I knew the U.S. won their 2nd game, but did they ever play their 3rd?

The players run 7-9 miles each game, not advisable to continually do that on a couple days rest.
Yeah, that makes sense. I feel like basketball players do too, but whatever. Looking forward to the playoff rounds.

there are tons of stoppages in basketball, the game time is shorter, and you can be subbed on and off. Also the length of the court is about 1/3 the size of a soccer field.

basketball is also played in an air conditioned arena. soccer is played outdoors, sometimes in god forsaken hell holes like houston texas, or manaus brazil

Very active NBA players only run about 2.5 miles per game.

Sad how expensive those tickets are. Wish it wasn't the case, the boys deserve a packed house.

i've been correct in predicting every USA game so far, and, well, the outlook does not look good for USA victory tonight. :(

Birnbaum allegedly replacing Yedlin in the lineup. Also rumored that Besler is starting. :dunno: https://twitter.com/MARKHEIMROCK/status/743577588833075200

Only Birnbaum's 6th cap. I would have thrown Besler in to play outside back or moved to a 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 but I think Steve will make his mark on the national team tonight.

Besler starting, not Birnbaum. Presumably at left back. Lol.
