Pretty stunned that the rose bowl didn't get the final. I wonder if they will play the final on metlife's turf or if they'll lay sod on top of it.

You'd think so but metlife has never had a sod overlay, even for the guinness champions cup matches. I read an article that said concacaf is fine with turf but US Soccer is not.

That's an issue for me. I'm pretty tuck on this issue though.

Thing is that with some of these players, they don't 100 percent identify to be one specific nationality. There's grey area.

I'm a big Johannsson fan but I feel extremely comfortable saying he would without a doubt be playing for Iceland if they could more realistically qualify for World Cups.

This was probably Chandler or Johannsson. https://twitter.com/AlexiLalas/status/677713778742394882

IDGAF as long as they are committed to getting better and winning games. But if you just want to make 3 appearances in a World Cup before your summer vacation then you can GTFO

Idc if they identify or not, if you have a passport and are the best option for the team then welcome to the USMNT

Maybe, just maybe (at the risk of being a tuck again) this is a contributing factor to why we rough ridin' suck.

1. We don't suck
2. Every single large western nation has players on their rosters that wither didn't grow up in that country or don't currently reside there. The game is global and the world is smaller than ever.
3. The only reason that this is an issue is that eurpoeans have pigeon holed America and American's into this "AMERICA eff YEAH!!!" flag waiving, hacksaw jim duggan stereotype. This I don't identify as an American thing is total bullshit, what does that even mean? Giuseppe Rossi is constantly catching crap from people on twitter, myself included, for talking about New Jersey in provincial terms, he clearly identifies as American, I don't think the Italians are giving him back. What about the scores of africans playing on European sides, or the dozens of Africans that live elsewhere that play for African sides? The entire argument is a complete farce. Wambach argument is insanely stupid, she has a rough ridin' teammate that was born and raised in another country. I bet Syd was like, WTF? She was born and raised in Canada, her husband was born and raised in England but wants to play for the US. The basic premise of Wambach's and Donovan's argument that you have to be "American" to play hard for the US team is mind numbingly dumb. If you think all of the American born players that suit up for the country are 100% committed and motivated then I can't help you. Anyone asking Clint Dempsey how much he cares when he's out there loafing around looking like crap?

Now that I have put that to bed can we get to the real issue here and it's the male genitals tease that was Wynalda's tweet? If he cared about the country he would reveal what his fixes are so that Suni can make them himself.

You're twisting LD's words. He is relaying the fact that some only want to play because they have a higher chance for success with us than other countries, whether it be a chance to play in a World Cup or a chance to actually get playing time. It is my preference that they have other reasons to play for us than that. I realize you all disagree with me to some degree.

Yes, eff Wynalda.

Obviously we don't suck, but our performances have not met (at least my) expectations for awhile.

Fine, but what do you do with American born players that aren't all "AMERICA eff YEAH!!!!" they just want to play soccer. I'm willing to bet that most guys aren't crying when they finally get a chance to put that jersey they grew up rooting for as a kid, they just want to play soccer. You know our soccer culture enough to know that there are a lot of kids in America still today that play soccer, like soccer, but don't list the USA as their favorite team. We are in a time of our greatest success. Some of the veterans of this team had to grow up watching Steve Sampson's US squad, how can they be expected to have a burning desire to play for America?  If Germany wanted Michael Bradley he'd be gone in a flash and his freaking dad coached the national team. These things will get better with continued success. One good semi-final run will see some of those Brazil, Portugal, and Germany jerseys worn by American kids replaced with the ol' stars and bars.

What was that Wynalda tweet?
