Yeah people keep saying similar crap but the status of US Soccer is night and day from what it was then and you guys know how I feel about Jurgy. It was stupid to fire Bradley then and it would be astronomically dumb to fire fuckface now.

I'm not saying we should fire anybody but it is unacceptable to lose to a Caribbean team on home soil for the first time since the 60's. I like the Gold Cup a lot and like to win it.

All true, win that game in October and tonight is just an inconvenient afterthought.

Time to cheer for Panama now.

BTW, that Mix substitution was stupid. If he was going to play him that far back that sub should have been Yedlin at that point instead of later or Zusi. Mix was completely useless playing that far back.

I have never in my life seen anything like this; Mark Geiger, Mexican fans, wow.

The match was a complete mess from start to finish. Vela threw an intentional elbow to the stomach of a Panamanian player very early in the match. Got a yellow.

In the 22nd minute a Panamanian player hit a Mexican player in the face with his arm and hand on a 50/50 ball, there is no possible way to judge intent on the play but Geiger gave a straight red. Dr. Joe is the only person on the broadcast, in the blogsphere, and twitter who thought this was the right call.

Panama playing a man down scores a goal to go up 1-0 in the 57th minute. Mexican fans pelt the Panamanians with all kinds of food and drinks while they celebrate the goal.

Panama parks the bus and Mexico spends the rest of the 90 completely confused and doesn't generate any good chances.

8th minute Torres from Mexico is attacking in the box against Torres from Panama. Torres from Mexico fouls Torres from Panama. Torres from Panama falls on the ball where his arm glances the ball, Geiger calls a hand ball in the box and awards Mexico a penalty. No one, including  Dr. Joe thinks this is the proper call, it's actually pretty brutal, worse than the penalty Mexico was awarded in the quarters. Panama is pissed, Mexican fans once again starts throwing crap. Match is delayed for 11 minutes, after the delay Guarado scores to tie the match. Extra time.

During the extra time Mexico continues to look like crap despite being up a man. They generate a scoring chance and is awarded another penalty. The foul in the box is legit, problem is it seemed to me that the play was offsides, missed by the crew. Guardado scores, Mexico goes up 2-1.

Now down 2-1 Panama now tries to score, looks better than Mexico does all night, creates chances but no goals. 2 minutes of stoppage time is awarded. Ochoa wastes half of the 2 minutes faking an injury. Panama wins a throw in deep in the Mexican end before the stoppage time expires, Panama doesn't immediately get a ball. The two minutes expires while Panama waits for a ball, instead of allowing them the throw Geiger blows full time. The Panamanians charge Geiger at the whistle, of course the players are much faster than the 300+ lb security guards employed by the  Georgia Dome. Geiger and the officiating crew escape without further incident because the Panamanian captain is a hero.

Geiger awarded 10 yellows and a straight red.

Geiger should be suspended and both associations should be fined. How long will CONCACAF put up with the Mexican fans behaving the way they have been? Their behavior seems to be getting worse as they seemingly have no reprocussions.

If you have FoxSportsGo and they provide a replay, which they likely won't because FoxSportsGo blows, watch it. At the very least you should watch copious youtube videos of that gong show, it was highly entertaining in its utter embarrassment.

Pretty favorable draw for our WCQ group. T&T, A&B/Guatemala, and St Vincent/Aruba :bracketmouse:

Canada (if they beat Belize) will have Honduras and Mexico

I would but their fans were super butthurt towards USWNT during the WWC.

They were never going to make the Hex this cycle anyway.

Quite possibly the worst game I've watched involving the usmnt. And the officiating since half has been so CONCACAF

I fell asleep for most of the second half and didn't pay attention when I was awake but didn't think the officiating was bad.

I guess the game matters for fifa ranking purposes which actually do matter for seeding.

Also I never want to see Timmy Chandler in a USMNT uniform ever again.

I know it's a bit Ussoccer-O but I would hope that the players have enough respect for fans paying a crap load of money to perform like professionals and play to win the match.  It's absurd to me that they don't give a eff when playing on that field.

Additionally when I looked at the roster for the starting 11 last night I felt like we had 2 players who have proven they have no business being on a A roster and 5 who are serviceable at best and can only be combo-ed in a good roster.  JK should have his personnel authority decisions yanked.
