guys, i read those articles about the national coach. i like him. he's a wildcard. wildcards are always fun. win or lose.

We're going to ignore emo's last post, but for most of us the problem isn't "liking" Jurgen. I like Jurgen, I just don't like all of the decisions he has made with relation to the USMNT. I hope he's the technical director for 20 more years and wins 5 world cups. When you are as outspoken and radical as he is you leave yourself wide open for criticism.

Stating that we can't beat Spain, Brazil, Germany, etc. without playing our absolute best soccer isn't really surprising or new news. The USA has a lower ceiling than any of the top teams in the world. Being realistic about the state of your own team is healthy. I don't see how being truthful about our teams capabilities in comparison to the rest of the world is at all controversial. Get over it.

LOL @ how superstitious everyone is about Altadore's goals, as if something was fundamentally wrong with him is now fixed. I'm sure he was fine before and nothing changed. 

So, after reading about Donovan's "sabbatical", I can see why he wouldn't make the team in favor of someone younger of about equal ability that was there the whole time. It was pretty silly of him.

Does it matter to you if I told you the sabbatical was a year and a half ago? What if I told you that since his sabbatical ended he played a year and a half for his club and a full year for the USA, in that year for the national team he scored 8 goals in 13 matches?

I'm not as upset about it as some, but if we are having a hard time finishing in brazil, people will believe that no Donovan is the reason.   I would probably be one ofthem,  and it would be hard to argue against that.
