Pretty sizable Portuguese population in the Boston area; none of those fans at that match tonight would be even remotely interested in the MLS no matter where the stadium is, completely different demographic.

Ownership should target them. :dunno:

For the most part fans of international soccer in America care more about their country than they do soccer. There are Portugal flags and Portuguese markets all over Boston but most don't even watch the champions league. This isn't limited to the Portuguese either. I'd imagine there are many Americans in Germany who will be 'muricing it up during the WC but wouldn't spend a dime going to a Bundesliga match.

i agree with mir's match fixing point - while there is undoubtedly a high level of talent in serie a, it's unfortunately become the wwe of top flight soccer in the last ten years.  its perception is hurt way more by that than racism imo

could post this over in the European Soccer thread, but camporetro.com has some amazing old school soccer jerseys, and for the world cup they are doing these fashion jerseys for a lot of the countries including the U.S. You can get them premade with a few of the historic names or customize it. I might order one today, not sure who I would get on the back.

I'm happy about Reus going down, and I'm going to be happy if Ronaldo is out. Do you even USA?

I understand being sad about Falcao and crap cause they're not in our group, but eff every player on Portugal, Ghana, and Germany.
