Gus is awful at soccer commentating. Awful. This doesn't change that.

Gus wasn't brought in for soccer fans, he was brought in for American sports fans to get them to try to watch soccer. I'm not butthurt about it like a lot of eurosnobs

anyone who was watching GC, UCL, or anything else Gus calls with Fox Soccer is going to watch no matter who is calling it. He is brought in to get people who ordinarily wouldn't watch to watch. Anyone who is butthurt about Gus calling games can go check themselves and stfu.

American soccer fans haven't liked any American p-b-p announcers; not Jack Edwards, not Dave O'Brian, not JP Delacamera, and Gus is getting unnecessary rough treatment. He's been doing soccer for like 15 minutes and its obvious that he's worked hard at learning the game. Give him time, he isn't getting in the way of the broadcast, he will be fine when American soccer fans stop self hating.

These are games that lend themselves to Gus's talents for making every moment huge and important, because they are. Gus is better at KSU-Xavier or Dortmund-Munich than Browns-Dolphins

I think Gus is doing ok, he's got that voice made to bring excitement to soccer for the casual fan that thinks it's boring. Wynalda is the problem.
