I'm firmly one of libderp nation now because I don't support protectionist economic policies? gotta swing with that policy pendulum to stay out of libderp nation I guess.

I don't support protectionism either.  I also don't support our so called "trading partners" and so called "allies" imposing near draconian levels of tariffs and targeted fees on U.S. companies in their markets while they enjoy nominal tariffs in relative terms as they sell into the U.S. market.

But I get it, LipDerp Nation clearly prefers face down ass up relative to trade.

Unilateral protectionism.  Already said that.   But good try, though, you always give it a good try.

do you guys think don really believes china is paying the tariffs? I think that's an actual thing that could be happening. we can all agree he's a moron so it's in play. that said, he could be just assuming he can talk his voting base into believing china is paying the tariffs, which is in play for similar reasons.

My theory is that originally, Don thought China was paying. He knows better now, but he also knows that it is rube fuel for his base, so he keeps fanning those flames.

Trump for sure believes to this day that tariffs are paid by the other country. There are quotes from former advisers (pretty sure including on this exact subject) about how he simply doesn't listen to them in closed door meetings because ultimately he sincerely thinks that he knows more than everyone else.

Yes Trump is sure a dumbass meanwhile the twitterflies completely miss the fact that just the mention of tariffs has caused the EU to renegotiate with Australia and Argentina and Uruguay to allow the Eu to reduce their share in beef exports.

Yes SD that means that this afternoon Trump will announce that American farmers will be entitled to almost 80% - or 35,000 metric tons - of the annual EU quota on hormone-free beef over seven years, with an initial allocation of around 40%, European officials told reporters in June.

What a dumbass but then again Trump could change his mind before the announcement today at 1:45

It's an interesting general question, though. How often is Trump intentionally misleading dumb, uneducated MAGAs? My guess is very rarely because you have to remember that he, himself is a dumb, uneducated MAGA. He and his people truly are simply on the same page. Also, when he talks/lies I'm not sure he's concerned with anything beyond making himself look better.

So cajoling the EU is a bad thing to increase and open their market for beef exports and idiot approved? You may think about taking this talking point to the FAGA thread . :gocho:
