If you have enemies and you live on a really high floor you could paint a big red X on the ground and drop your shitty HTPC on them from your window as they passed by over the X.

don't forget to compensate for wind, and the time it takes to fall.

It's not really a HTPC if it's not even located in the same room as your home theater.  :shy:
Where did you get that overnight bag?

You could throw that POS down the oil leak hole in the Gulf and try to plug it :dunno:

How heavy are these things?  My balcony is ridiculously windy and my grill is constantly getting shifted around.  I was thinking of getting some cinder blocks and setting up a half-square around the grill to keep it in it's place against the wall, but if I can get enough of these HTPC things, those might work too.  :dunno:

Very tiny. Unnoticeable in your home theater.

They are enormous.  Probably too much weight for your balcony to hold.

So I'd need like 20 of them?  30?  The cinder blocks are only a couple bucks each and I'd probably need 8 of them.

We're talking about the cement balcony that's on the second level of my condo building but nearly ground level with the surface to the west where all the train/overpass stuff is.  Not some shitty college apartment wood balcony.

Hmm, sounds like it could support one.  One will be plenty to keep your grill in place or put your car up for a quick tire change (if you can stand the noise and heat that they create)

It would plug the hole, no doubt, but it might be so large that it causes the sea level to rise and submerge Florida. Probably not a good idea.

Right. So how much per HTPC block?

there's a stain type thing that you can get at home depot if you don't want them to just look like regular cement htpc blocks. my wifes dad poured some on their new patio three years ago. it still looks good. pm if you want more info.

It's pretty much dying before it's getting released. Nobody wants to be a part of it.

Hey guys, the kid next door who's in a wheelchair and is 7 years old is trying to raise money for a surgery and is selling his great grandfather's HTPC for $10.  He's sold a ton of hand drawn pictures and some poems he wrote in limerick form but he just cannot unload this HTPC.  I kinda feel bad for him but I don't want to throw $10 down the drain.  Thinking of asking him if he's planning on pulling the colors out and cranking out one of those drawings he's been selling for $50 a pop so I can do my part.

Logitech is about the only partner left with the project. They seem confident in it, but its making people uneasy since everyone else backed out. don't remember where i saw it. probably gizmodo or something. Boxee tv will be quality. If you don't already have an HTPC that is.

Hey SD, what do you use to watch Hulu on your tv? Since your pos WDtv thing can't do it, you might want to check into the $10 htpc.

dear ew2x4, I don't watch hulu....because I'm not from the past.  The neighbor kid just wheeled his chair out to the corner and dumped his HTPC off in the street for cats to pee on.

Your wdtv must be from the stone age.

btw, I was going to cancel comcast and switch to qwest, and they gave me a deal i couldn't refuse. $50 for 16 mbps internet, the standard cable tier, and a free hddvr for 1 year. I was going strong on just the htpc, but for only $15 more than what I was paying for internet, i get all that stuff. So now I get awesome future technologies along with technologies from the past that current technologies just couldn't dethrone.

All the cable providers backed out, leaving just Dish network. So, good luck with that.

Good news re. the sick wheelchair kid's fundraiser.  Enough cats pissed on his HTPC that some guy stopped by and offered to buy it to stick in his garden to keep the rabbits away because of the cat piss all over it.  Apparently rabbits hate cat piss and antiquated technology.

ya because Google needs the cable providers (who weren't launch partners to begin with, not sure why you chose to lie about that)
