The thing is, TCU has been very up and down in the Big 12.  I actually like that about Patterson.  It is as if every other year or so is a rebuilding year gearing up for a Big 12 / national championship run the following year.  Odds are they take a step back next year.

Us on the other hand, who knows.  We have a lot of young talent but history says we need a very experienced QB to make a serious splash.  Unless we go all in on Delton or Thompson this year, I think we are out of the Big 12 championship conversation by mid 2018 season.

If Sean is at the helm, we'll go 4-8 or maybe 5-7. If Venables is calling the shots, we go 10-2.

Its really hard to say at this point. I just don't see Bill being back and I have no idea the direction Taylor will go.

Heard from a booster that one of the stipulations that was in place for Taylor to get the job was for Sean to take over the helm when Bill retires. Who knows if 100% accurate or not but it has something to do with their Iowa ties..... FWIW

I appreciate the info, but the "Iowa ties" part sounds ridiculous. Gene was at Iowa from 2014-16, 25 years after Snyder was there. Otherwise, Gene went to school at Arizona State then worked at SMU, Navy, and North Dakota State. I can't see there being any Iowa connections between the two.

For the story to make any sense whatsoever, the person hiring Gene would have to have Iowa ties. That would be the person making such a stipulation.

Who's QB?

No idea, but Tech, OU, OSU, and TCU all have to replace their QB too.
