What would we think of Bielema?  I think he'd be a good hire.  Decidedly mediocre at Arkansas, but that's a pretty brutal division.

I could talk myself into it as well. He made a very dumb decision in going to Arkansas IMO. I think his style of play and recruiting abilities would fit much better in Manhattan.

Wouldn't need any talking into, frankly.  I think I'm still with Venzy as the homerun, but after that, I'd say Bielema is my favorite realistic choice.

I'm not a big Beilema fan.  Not the worst we could do, but the flopping against Alabama and some of his off the field stuff annoys me.  Even if you forgive his divisional SEC losses, he has some other real bad losses on his resume.  I also don't think he has a terribly high ceiling, particularly against B12 spread offenses.  He success was while the B10 was still playing a lot more ground and pound football.

Doesn't have a high ceiling?  He won double digit games 4 of his 7 years at Wisconsin (12-1; 10-3; 11-2; 11-3).

I acknowledge his record at Arkansas has been mediocre and he's had some bad losses, but give me Bielema over whatever flavor-of-the-year coach the MAC spits out this off-season.

Plus he's a weirdo, which is a HUGE plus in my book.

yes, would take Bielema

He had some serious whiffs as he brought about a change in recruiting efforts at KSU.  Kids just did not work out and it helped lead to the slide that we saw after 2003 that led to the Snyder's first exit.  He may not have been here for that slide due to the moving on to Wisconsin, but his choices played into it.

I am not saying he would be an awful hire.  I am just noting there are issues of concern from his period in Manhattan.

I think he would be a better fit here than a lot of names.

Pretty sure he likes pro style offense with huge offensive linemen, two TE sets, down hill running, PA, etc.. Play some solid/physical D and I think that's a set up that could succeed in the current Big 12.

None of his Arkansas teams would compete in the Big 12 any better than they did in the SEC.

Who is the CFB version of Doug Gottlieb?  Has Jesse Palmer ever hinted at a coaching career?

If we're going to go after failed Ark HC's, let's go all in and see if Bobby Petrino wouldn't be interested.

He's not headed to being just another grossly obese HC (and subsequent HUGE medical insurance premium)
He rides a Harley (possible be the lead rider for the next Harley Day)
He's .500 in bowl games
Has a career .71 winning percentage
and,

he gets himself fired so we wouldn't actually have to pay him like that other school in Ks has been doing (and we secretly did w/ RP)

Sounds like a win-win to me.
