Its official: Fred Hoiberg has announced that former Penn State Sophomore Guard Chris Babb has transferred to Iowa State. Babb averaged 9 points per game during his sophomore season at Penn State. Babb will sit out the 2010-2011 season, and be eligible for 2 years beginning in the 2011-2012 basketball season.

Real question is:  Will Hoiberg still be there when the kid is eligible?

Probably not, Kansas State will get Hoiberg envy and fire Frank.

I think maybe you guys should put some fake beards of some of your estroballers and try to sneak them on the floor.

They needed a guard for next year and they knew it.  Why save a Babb for tomorrow when you can get a Canadian today?

agreed.  Will be a win-win, hopefully.  It would be nice to be right, and have him destroy KSU.  It would also be nice for KSU to destroy Babb, and have everyone LOL @ me.

only possible downside is if Babb sucks and the Cat's still get Hoiberg'd.  :frown:

we'll probably get the best of both worlds.  babb will go crazy for 20+ and kstate will still dominate the otherwise talentless and unmotivated cyclobergs.

kstate could still pull him today.

Burnt bridge.  Prolly not a good idea to announce a transfer, begin a search, then try to tell Penn State that he changed his mind because the "best" offer out there was ISU.  Once you jump, no turning back.

Word now coming in that Darion "Jake" Anderson, formerly of Northern Illinois University, has transferred to Iowa State. Depending on NCAA clearing, he may play this upcoming season.

you can't go wrong taking mid-major guards that can't shoot.  especially if you can get them for a year or less.

I'm sure Fred can work with him. He was only named 'the best shooter ever' a few years back.
