I want to hear more about this Surface PRK.
Instead of blading your eye and opening a flap to do work under before closing it, they just work directly on the surface. The benefit is that it's less risky and you don't end up with a flap, which in my case, based on what they saw would've been a problem because the location of astigmatism indicated that a flap might not hold (

level knowledge out of Trim here). The downside of the PRK is you only get that awesome holy crap my vision is perfect lasik feeling for a couple seconds afterwards and then you're in rough shape for the rest of that day, most of the weekend and blurry for week(s). It takes 6 months to a year to get the full kick-assness. For me, by Monday I was OK driving on known roads during the day and after 2 weeks I was pretty competent.
If you qualify for LASIK, get LASIK. If they say you're not a good candidate, get the PRK. Go to a good place that won't bullshit you though about qualifying for LASIK because it's all they do and/or it's more expensive.
