In 1998, my wife, Becky, and I created our own K-State magazine, and a few months later, launched a K-State website, which was a founding site of the Rivals.com network.

The legal issues, not good.  Being a founding site on the Rivals network, pretty accurate.  I remember when the network was trying to form.  They were willing to sign some really marginal actors to be on the site, just to get coverage at each major school.  Comparatively, K-State did pretty well compared to some rather good programs (I can't remember who it was than ran the absolutely awful Husker site).  Believe it or not, they also contacted me to gauge my interest solely based upon an old football recruiting site I put together.  I wondered what sort of Mickey Mouse operation these guys had to be at "Rivals" to look at my work and say to each other "Uh, yeah...that'll work!"

You might be talking about Huskerpedia.  I think his name was Husker Dan or something like that.  The had a Sportspedia site that had recruited several schools, including Colorado, someone else, and Chad.  I forget his business partner name but he was the one who had Chad reach out to me to make KStateFans on the Sportspedia network.  I talked them into leaving that network since their ISP was such garbage and our site kept going down.  Husker Dan or Bob or whatever used to call me on the phone to convince me not to bail, with talk about stock options and stuff.  I'm sure it sounded magical to someone.  That's when Mjrod offered to take over.  After a while I got bored of all of it and just started posting here.

Some of those "ruffled feathers" is sincere, but I only sent about 50 emails to people I knew how to contact. That is less than 1.5 percent of the members. We just wanted some level of preparedness or NO ONE would have known what happened, leading to even more confusion. Much of the "ruffled feathers" is orchestrated as part of Rivals' gameplan, as is allowing people to say "Fitz was fired," which is a blatant lie.

I guess people are saying that Fitz was fired.
