An hour drive from Manhattan to watch the cats kick the hawks ass is almost too long.. 2 hours would be a deal breaker

$$$$$

Both CU and CSU each make $1-1.5 million for each game played in Denver.  It also gives each school an extra home game every season.

That seems like a crazy low amount of money for the biggest game of the year. For instance take any given K-State game, if we have an average ticket price of $60, it's much bigger btw, we are making over $3 million in ticket sales alone. That doesn't count parking or concessions. It also doesn't count the millions spent locally. For schools like Colorado and CSU it makes no sense to play that game on a neutral field.

Also it doesn't give each school another home game, that's not how it works bro.
I'll clarify how it works in the Rocky Mountain Showdown:  Both schools include the RMS in their respective season tickets package, so technically, you are correct that it's not another home game.

Wait a minute, everyone else shut up.

Are you telling us that this game on Friday will have season ticket holders from both Colorado and Colorado State receiving tickets for this game?

The only reason to play a game at AH is for KC fans to have a short drive.  And beers at the game

Pretty lame that you have to be "in the club" to get beer at a football game.

we don't live to get black out drunk and arrested at games.  it's a nice amenity to be able to buy a poor KU or ISU fan a beer, but who really gaf?

The major motivation to legalize weed in CO was to make the football there watchable.

Colorado's season tickets include the option for the game in Denver or you can trade it out for another home game.  :runaway: :surprised:

Technically, every year we play a home game against KU.  Only reason I can see for moving it to Arrowhead would be to play in a nicer stadium than KU's, but if we wanted to do that, why not meet in the middle and play at Topeka High, or Lawrence Free State?   Fact of the matter is, it's not worth it to take away games played at Manhattan.  If KU wanted to play at Arrowhead instead of their home games against us, than I am all for it.  But no sense in decreasing the amount of home games we have in BSFS.  That's not beneficial to anyone.

If we're taking Mike from Ft. Collins seriously, like the two Kansas P5 teams playing their neutral site game in Missouri ( :bigtoke: ), we'd be looking at attendance potential of 78,000.  Since like 60,000 of those seats would be sold to K-State fans, and the ticket sales are split evenly between the teams, we'd be giving KU a ton of money.  Ain't gonna happen.

I think we are waiting for KU to get wise and just play in Manhappiness every year, like we did with OU and NU in the early 80s when we realized we weren't competitive with those to then collegiate superpowers. I think the squawks are a Beatty derailment away from coming to that reality.

This is correct.  Enough season ticket holders for CU complained about it that they instituted this last year, I think.

Both schools will not make as much money by moving back to campus, but it creates less headache for both schools.  CSU is ok with continuing in Denver, but CU is not (unless it's CSU's home game).  CSU is fine with this agreement since we have our new stadium.

Playing in Mile High is a big deal to the 18-20 year old players who get to use the same locker rooms as the NFL teams and play on an NFL field (the same one John Elway, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, etc) played on.  Fans who have to drive further and/or get worse seats don't particularly like it.

I think CU gets 55% of the tickets (west side) and CSU gets 45% of the tickets (east side).  Each school disperses them however they choose.

I'm not advocating KU and KSU move to KC.  I'm just curious if they ever played there, and if not, then why?  Even once every 3 years in a 6 year cycle (so twice total) would be an interesting experiment.

Our players actually get drafted so they don't care so much since they will eventually get paid to play on an NFL field. I'm sure it's a great experience for mountain west kids tho, I think some d2 teams play each other at Arrowhead too

I think the whole "it's in Missouri" should suffice on the whole why it has not been done and will not be done.
