I thought you watched Alton Brown. Just use mayonaise or miracle whip. The thin layer of fat will keep the bread from getting soggy.

I don't eat mayo or miracle whip
I thought all white people loved it?

Buy loaf of French bread.  Hollow the loaf out.  Layer genoa salami, provolone chz, capacuola ham, lettuce, onion, tomato, more lettuce, olive oil, oregano, garlic salt, pepper, another layer of ham, salami and chz.

You should seriously open a Jewish Deli in T-town.

Just ate a pastrami seasoned turkey with sharp cheddar on a whole grain sandwich thin.  No other toppings because of soggy issues mentioned in this thread.  Luckily for me, the meat cheese combo stood on it's own.   :lick:

Someone gave me some summer sausage and pepper jack last week.  So that it wouldn't go to waste, I cut some huge chucks of each, threw it on some bread and took it for lunch.  It was surprisingly good.

was the person who gave you the summer sausage named rick daris?  he stockpiles the crap.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Have you tried Oscar Mayer Deli Creations?  They are good.  All the ingreds are packaged separately in the box.  When it's time to eat you assemble the fresh ingreds and eat a non-soggy delicious 'wich.  You can eat them hot or cold.

good dry topping: sprouts.

guacamole might be an alternative to mayo and/or cheese which might not soggify the bread as much

lots of lettuce could protect the bread.

:dunno:

Yeah, you're right.  Just ask the guy at Subway to individually package all of your toppings so that you can make the sandwich fresh at your desk.

Are you allowed a mini-fridge at your desk?  Keep lettuce and crap in there.
Where did you get that overnight bag?

Probably could sneak one in but I don't own one.  I'm thinking about just going no lettuce after today's successful meat/cheese only sandwichPAK.

No lettuce is fine but it's a shame not putting a slice of 'mato on there once in awhile.

Just be in-your-face about it.  Call it "YUM-ulka!"  Sell soft pretzels in Star of David shapes instead of curlies.
And be unapologetic about charging a quarter for an extra napkin.  ;)
