SO THERE'S A KATPHAQ AT A KARAOKE BAR...
« on: May 15, 2010, 01:22:31 AM »
SkinnyBenny is obviously bringing down the house with the racially unifying song he always sings, "End of the Road" by B II M.  Black people and white people at the bar are arm-in-arm and belting it out in racial harmony envisioned by MLK a million years ago.  What song do you sing afterward to ride his coattails and take second place?

Note: no opcat  :opcat: comments which undo the racial gap-bridging that SkinnyBenny handshaked together while singing EotR.

Journey - Don't Stop Believin'

You really can't go wrong with Journey.  Separate Ways would also be a great choice.

I'd probably have to follow up with Bon Jovi - Livin'  On a Prayer.  That way the crowd could get involved, too.

I would do anything for love.  Meatlloaf.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Journey - Don't Stop Believin'

Garbage 4122nd post.

Don't Stop Believin' is insanely overdone imHo.  Used to be awesome, now is extremely meh because it happens literally every. single. time. a karaoke night is initiated.  It's now only good if it's done by Peter, Quagmire, Joe, and Cleveland.  "HELLO CLEVELAND!!!!!!!!!!"     "Hello, Peter."

And very good call on the "I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)," but it is a dicey proposition because you might just slip up and get the crappy non-radio version that is 11 minutes long.  Also you have to have a karaoke queen onstage with you to do the "will you raise me up, would ya help me down" part.  It's a great one if everything works out perfectly.  If not,  :flush:

B52's - Love Shack.

i usually go with Dead or Alive by Bon Jovi

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

just thought of another one, Imagine by John Lennon.  100% guaranteed panty dropper (every single time).
