Why do you think ksucats will have no draftees?

I am just saying we better hope we do.  There isn't an obvious pro prospect on this team yet (at least that I know of) who looks like they can get drafted next year. That's not to say someone won't shine and get attention, but if no one does emerge as a draft-able prospect, then I bet our season ends up with about 8 wins or so.

As it stands now, Risner is our only hope at a draft pick next year, and he would have to leave early.

-Consensus between coaches and players that this is our most talented two deep

Best since when?

I would imagine Snyder 2.0 era.

You'd be wrong.

Ever.

There is no Arthur Brown or Darren Sproles on the roster, but across the board two deep we are the most talented we've ever been.

The only person who would be in a position to intelligently make that comparison is Snyder, since he is the only one that has been there the whole time.

I disagree.  Geary is a potential draftee.  And Risner isn't the only underclassman who could leave early after a big year (Reed, Pringle, Adams, Walker, Frantz, Beechum).

If we are as good as we hope to be, I guarantee you somebody gets drafted next year.

the original Lynch Mob was pretty much 2 deep with NFL guys - I am not sure the entire Big 12 has that kind of talent on D anymore

This. The '98 defense is one of the best in the history of college football

I wonder what the best season a college football team has had with no current players getting drafted that year.

Maybe our 2011 team.
Bryce tho?

How many plays was Bryce on the field?

What's wrong with what he said? The 2004 team's two deep with Sproles was trash. It's about the depth.

Ideally you'd have both. However, Darren Sproles wasn't enough to keep Bill from getting chased out of town.

Depth, or lack thereof is what killed Snyder's last 2 legit threats at national title aspirations.. especially in 2012 that HAD  Arthur Brown. Don't diminish the importance of needing really quality depth. Or put all your eggs into a razor thin 1st string with no real support behind them. Let me know how that works out for ya

Zuber is the fastest on the team. Dude can flat out roll. Also hearing Tyler Burns has been really impressive this spring. Has broken more long runs than any of our RBs. Lots of excitement about Patton. He is really fast. Just learning what to do, but could be special.

Also doesn't hurt that he's the only one with the good sense to wear a helmet that is roughly 2 full pounds lighter than the boat anchors that most every other one of our skill position players are toting around on their heads either....

Whenever they choose to leave, the following guys will possibly get drafted:

DJamer Reed
Dalton Risner
Scott Frantz
Byron Pringle
Alex Barnes
Kendall Adams
Reggie Walker
Trey Dishon (his measurables will fawned over at pro day and the combine)

If you have 8 of 22 guys in the starting lineup potentially getting drafted, that's a pretty damn good team.  The fact that none of them are seniors shouldn't have much bearing.

Hell, I'm struggling to think of seniors that are going to start this year, period, outside of Will Geary.  Maybe Trent Tanking?

 :dunno:

Wood has good measurables.  If he has a good season, he may be a late round pick.

Navjar may get a look being the center for one of the best lines in the country.  But BJ Finney didn't get drafted, so I wouldn't expect much.

If I'm a betting man, the streak stays alive because DJamer Reed could declare after this year.

Anything on if kyle ball has done anything this spring?

Played as a true fresh on passing downs but was hurt I believe.

Looked to have a great motor.
