Only switch I would make would be Texas vs Tennessee.

Shouldn't texas play Arkansas? Old SWAC rematch.

I think Texas vs Barnes is more interesting right now. Though to be fair, the 10s of Texas basketball fans probably wouldn't be that exited.

They don't. He's my favorite non K-State coach.

ATM and MU don't deserve to play the rivals they left - thankfully Self won't let it happen

South Carolina.
As for the Shockers, I'm an out of stater that totally wants that game being played every year. I'd rather play them than even a middle of the pack P5 bubble school. But other than doing this for the fans, I honestly don't see a reason for K-State to pursue it. Someone make the case.

When the series ended in the early 2000s we were trying to get WSU to do a 3 for 2 deal (3 in Bramlage, 2 at Koch) and they requested a home and home. Turgeon was their coach and they were just starting to get decent again. For us it seemed like a lose-lose, beat them and who cares because you are supposed to, lose and its a disaster. Of course at the time we were scuffling along as a program as well, so we had no case really.

Sine then, things have changed considerably and equal deal makes sense. WSU has been a Top 20 kenpom program for 6 straight years and has a Final 4 and a Sweet 16. They are now in one of the top 7-8 conferences in the country. We have 7 NCAAs in the last 10 years with an Elite 8.

The "lose-lose" argument simply isn't valid and I'm sure they would happily play a home and home with us.

I don't think WSU wants to play K-State or KU. Either way they are the little guy getting an upset or the little getting putting in their place. I think they are all talk, that is why our negotiations with them broke down a couple of years ago.

Really? I always thought they were begging to get back into a contract with us (and obviously KU). Did something change?
Fans yes. School? Pprobably not so much.

While what you say is certainly true, this game won't happen with oscar here.  He isn't going to choose to let the in-state mid-major demonstrably prove how much better they are than his P5.

They aren't mid-major and they are undoubtedly a better program right now, he needs to chop them down. Like I said before, oscar needs them a hell of a lot more than 3G needs oscar. He could really use that pelt.

Remember when ku had play wsu in the ncaa's, and wsu beat them by about a hundred????

That was so lol. We should play them bc it would be fun to have a good december game on the schedule, and if we lose it's no big deal.

I doubt the shockers give 2 fucks about playing/beating kansas state, they have been the clearly better program for a while. It's ku they have a complex with because they largely share the same fans

Yeah, playing us is kind of lose-lose for them. If they win, who really cares? It's just oscar's Cats. If they lose, it really hurts them come tournament selection time, and they also have to hear about it from all of their K-State friends. I'd love to play them if we can make it happen, though.

They are certainly a better program but a portion of the fanbase can either live in denial or not catch crap from their buds as long as we don't play them.  oscar also doesn't go for quality pelts, he goes for quantity.

This is just wrong. Wichita State needs every rpi top 100 game it can get. Winning the AAC is apparently only worth a 6 seed, or a few slots better than winning the mvc. They'd be lucky to get to play us under any circumstance.

Can't u only do this once? That's why most do it after their junior years. Why now unless he isn't planning on sticking around after next year?

It was just weird how it came out like K-State or oscar didn't know about it.
