They're in Spokane twice and Sacramento once. It's really not easy for their families. Other than that, and that's a big thing, we don't believe in excuses. That won't be talked about at all on our end."

Yeah, they don't believe in excuses and they aren't going to talk about it...., but,  Cronin is going to make a huge talking point about what a pain it is for a 6 seed to travel to the West Coast in his first address to the media after their selection. Got it.

That would be super shitty. I also don't think any excuse was made. Just a statement of facts. That would suck. I don't think the committee takes that stuff into account though. Just seeds them up (poorly) and assigns regions. They really shouldn't be looking at trying to make up for years past travel. If you want a game closer to your players home, schedule it in noncon.
