I thought the refs did an admirable job keeping this game close. The offensive foul on ervin when he got tackled with the ball was superb.
We benefited from one of the most egregious incorrect calls in the replay era and you're still staying on brand with the officials.
Did they not see that dude literally touch the ball when he swiped at it while laying on the ground?
I'm surprised it wasn't just a common foul, but I've seen worse calls. When you look at it in slow motion it sure looks like he swipes at the ball, just grazes it but fails to have an impact, and then for a split second out of instinct/frustration actually grabbed (like, got four fingers around) the ankle.
Like I said, it happened fast enough it's hard to tell intent, but I'm pretty sure that's what the refs were thinking (probably on top of the fact that they owed KSU at that point).
