How much longer should we give weber
« on: February 16, 2017, 09:22:48 AM »
Before we can come to a conclusion on him? He obviously needs the rest of the regular season, big12 tournament and then if we make it to post season play. That much is obvious and has been stated plenty. But what about after that? The roster is very young and a couple of those guys have been pretty dinged up this year. this sophomore class is the future. Now if they don't make it to the tournament (big dance) as seniors, it's probably time to finally see having a discussion about whether he's the guy for the job. Thoughts?

he had to completely overhaul the roster, THAT IS NOT EASY TO DO!  yes, very young, could be competing for the Big 12 in 2 years when this young core are seniors!  also, don't have the off court problems, another school to the east, i won't name names has, which makes me proud as an alum.  once we figure out how to play hard as a team for 40 minutes, look the eff out!

Really hoping he can retire a Kansas State Wildcat and open a nice chicken nuggets shop here in town right beside wingstop

Also keep in mind how many close losses we have. Just a couple bounces of the ball, maybe 4-5 plays, and this team already has 20 wins and is probably ranked.

really we just needed a few runs that never happened and one of our players to go off and hit 4-5 3 pointers. other teams have done this against us! its just a matter of time until we get to enjoy this

not to mention a team or two having a let down against us, sometimes you expect it to happen and it doesn't, not much you can do

I would not assume sophomores coming back.  I would not assume better progress next year with losing wes and johnson.  We have a taste of what it is like without one, let alone two.  The rest of the league will be older too and KU stronger.  We are not half full or more than half empty.  I could live with 60%, but not 50%.

He needs 2-4 more years.  If we would have won just 5 more games I think we are easily a top 10 team and probably a 3 seed at worst.

I don't agree with firing guys that are close to retirement. It's just not right and if there's one thing that K-State has thrived on, it's doing things the right way. I say we let him coach until he wants to retire. He's really close to retiring so let's just bear with him a little longer until he gets stuff straightened out.

2014/15: 15 wins
2015/16: 17 wins
2016/17: 16 wins ALREADY! with 5 games left!

Play really well, hope for the other team to have a let down, and win 2 of the last 5, then we're talking a pretty obvious upward trajectory over the last few years. This will be a 20 win team in the next few years, because math. oscar deserves those years to prove it.

This team should already be a 20 win team. We just can't come up with a play with under 2 minutes go in the 2nd half of ball games. Dribble around and jack up a 24 footer isn't going to win you one possession games. :shakesfist:

first thing is first- we have to decide if we're a football school or a basketball school because you can't be both.  drive for show but putt for dough is my motto and in this case, football pays the bills.  hoops is our hobby and fun but realistically we're not ever going to be good at it so WGAF? the answer is no.

let currie and his minions do their little song and dance in the legends room twice a week during the winter time and then get out of my face because it's time to step onto the gridiron which is where the real men play their sport.  it's the sport of kings and it's better than diamond rings. football.  football.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

I didn't know this was even something that had been considered.  It's obvious that we have and are making progress.  To bring this topic up right now seems a bit premature.

I'm sure these negative comments filter down to our players too. Its no wonder why they struggle to perform in games with all this negativity surrounding the program.
