I have been a pretty vocal hater of the oscar weber hire. just a giant stud at hating it and him and the basketball we play now. all of that. but I was never really able to hope we would lose a game to improve our chances of getting better until yesterday. felt great. tcu is also purple so that maybe helped? man, excited to see our next hire. maybe rick barnes? he whipped our asses and faces recently iirc? was also the last coach that could win at texas so that's something? just jk. but hopefully it's someone good like frank martin.

I've spent the better part of two seasons cheering for both, in some weird fan purgatory and I hate it.

I freely confess that I intensely dislike oscar and his weird awkwardness to the point that it would require a significant amount of success on his part for me to overlook it.

Not really fair, but I just can't help it.

I've come around and mostly cheer for him now. Again, like in my head, not in real life.

I spent a couple a games this seasons doing a little fist pumping and yelling at the picture box.

But now I'm just  :blank: and last night I kept mumbling that we're gonna figure out a way to lose the game, and sure enough, Oscar delivered.

It's very hard to win a close game when your opponent doesn't choke.

A close win at home vs TCU would've been the worst outcome from that game.

Yep.  In the 2nd half, when it was clear KSU couldn't blow them out, the only way to root was FROG FROG FROG.

But we were all coming down from the emotional high of halftime anyway.

yes.  Now I just sort of smirk to myself all sly when Wes is bricking FT's or we commit a horrible turnover or (my new favorite) the other team rains 3's while wide open.  I forgot I get mad though when the other team absolutely smashes our faces on the glass because that was a Frank thing and we are now so soft.  Like Trump towards Russia soft.

Oscar journey in Oz. The yellowed bricks in the road wasn't from gold.

I've been getting way better at forgetting we are playing.  The kids and I discovered that Finding Dory is on Netflix now so we watched it and then at about 9:00 I remembered about the game so I checked my phone and saw that we had lost and thought "I think Finding Dory was maybe even better than Finding Nemo."

@OSU was the first time i was absolutely rooting for the other team.

i was actively rooting for tcu last night. i hated it, but one thing i've always believed is you can't choose who you root for in a game, it comes naturally (unless you gamble).

If our fans have to lay money down in order to cheer for Kstate then oscar is all but done....

It's like going to marriage counseling...as soon as it gets to that point..its over.

I had a 9 game parlay last night that would have cashed out at $1600. Picked the 'Cats straight up (figured they could have @home against TCU). George Mason blew it with a double OT last second layup loss to St. Louis, so once that happened I was full on cheering for TCU.

The night before I had a 10 game parlay that would have cashed out at $1500. Only reason I lost was because Ohio blew a 15 pt. lead in the second half to Western Michigan. :frown:
