I basically did that with a friend a few years ago. Bet Kentucky would go undefeated regular season one drunken night in the 'Ville. Good friend, dude paid up. $100. If I loss I only had to pay $10.

You are reading dumb stats that probably don't take into account tempo.

At this point there is no valid measure that says our defense is good. We have the 8th efficiency defense in the league (1.08 ppp), 9th eFG% defense (54.7%), worst 3PT% defense (44.2%), and 8th OR% (allowing 36.2%). Fortunately we lead in forcing TOs (24.6%) and are 3rd in 2PT% defense (48.8%). We have a long way to go on defense and if we don't get better we will be fortunate to win 9 league games.

We can beat ISU and this would be another big step for this team, but I'm not jumping off if ISU beats us.

Both teams have bad eFG% defenses. Both teams force turnovers at a high rate. ISU's biggest strength offensively is not turning it over (they lead the league), which will be interesting against our defense which leads the league in defensive TO%.

The Cats should have an advantage inside; ISU allows the 9th worst 2PT% and K-State is best in the league on offensive 2PT%.

K-State allows oboards, but ISU doesn't really try to oboard, so that could be a wash.

Another stat where someone will have to give; K-State leads in FT rate and ISU leads in not allowing opponents to get to the FT line.

Finally, 3PT% will come into play; ISU takes 40% of their shots from there and we allow teams to make 44%.

I'll be an optimist and say Cats 74 - Clones 71.

That will be a big factor.

I'd say whoever wins that TO battle will be huge as well.

But you never know about a wildcard like rebounding. Neither team is good at getting oboards or defending against them, but someone may have one of those unusual nights where they get a bunch of them. I'd say that is more likely to be us because I'm not sure ISU even tries to oboard. I think Prohm is one of "those guys" (though he wasn't at Murray State).

ISU also doesn't attack the basket and rarely gets to the FT line, something else he changed from his Murray State days.

Yes we are due for a game in which the opponent can't throw it in the ocean.  OSU shot >50% against us from 3 (softest rims I've ever seen); OSU and WVU combined to shoot like 95% against us from free throw line.  Those games could've been blow outs in our favor.

It would be nice to be the recipient of a bad shooting night by ISU.  Also, we will need to make our free throws tonight.  The fact that we beat WVU given the difference in free throw percentage says something about how well this team is starting to play.

To be fair to PIPE, basketball season does this to me every year. Since the day we play on sometimes shifts around I often open the ol' ESPN app and say "oh, we play tonight?" about as often as I rush through whatever I'm doing to flip on ESPN to realize we don't play till the next day.
