If we don't go 2-2 in the next four we don't have a chance at all

Yep. The losses this past week set us up for this. No margin for error now.

I hope that someone throws this in Tyler D's fat face, he has been absolutely insufferable on twitter about this lately

i'll probably talk about this more in the kp30nt thread, but this cows game is the exact opposite of the baylor game.  the cows are 0-5 so we'll get no credit from the tournamentmakers if we beat them and they're a top 35 team on the road in the eyes of kenpom so we won't drop much (could go up!) if we lose.  it's a no-lose situation.

I don't think we are making the tourney. That jobbing we got in those two games really crushed our souls.

Gee, I really wish the teams we beat would win more games against the other teams they played.  I'm pretty rough ridin' bored with Cole's psuedo-analysis.

I'll maintain that if we go .500 in conference and beat Tenn we'll make the dance. I dont care if those 9 conf wins are 2UT 2OU 2TCU 2OSU 1TTU.

Roughly 30% chance we go 500 or above in conference. Changes if you can steal one out of the next three.

how are you calculating those chances?  kenpom is expecting kstate to win one of the next three in its 8-10 projection.

It is. I would think he would try to change his format from kenpom a little though. I mean, his ratings are slightly different and a few different features, but that's about it.

I don't think is projection is better than kenpoms. But he has more bells are whistle to play around with.

Absolutely no way we go 4-0 on the road vs OU, UT, TCU, and OSU. That's how many conference road games we've won in the past 3+ years. Doubt we're going to match that total in 2/3 of the rest of this conference season.

I tend to get optimistic and I'm doing it again. If we win both this week, I'll be fully back on with this team. Yeah, its not likely and we would basically have to do what we couldn't do last week. The road record and top 50 record for oscar is bleak. But I'm still going to do it.

Just setting myself up for some ridiculous post and meltdown again.

ya maybe we were wrong about everything we thought about oscar.  maybe we're about to rip off 10 straight W's and win the b12.  final four??

oscar is going to do enough (maybe more) to keep a lot of fans (most?) interested in following the Cats this year and going forward. He is what we always knew him to be, not terrible like Wooly or even Asbury, but certainly not great or even to the level of Frank at K-State.

His biggest problem is the bland personality, seeming to not take responsibility when things go south, and not being an engaging guy. But overall, he's not a terrible or great coach, the type that most P5 schools outside the blue bloods keep around, probably longer than they should.

Even after Oscar retires or leaves I will always remember him for the meme he has given the KSU community

Even if this season gets away from him he will likely become the longest tenured coach at KSU since Hartman as this years ties Wooly at 6 seasons and I would guess he gets to 8 seasons at minimum unless Currie is hired away before this school year is over.

While oscar will never take the SLTH crown from Carmody a run of 8 years without a NCAA tournament victory would be remarkable.

oscar IS K-State basketball at this point.

Think the court gets named after him when he retires?

Still think we need to LOCK HIM UP and get that buyout to where other schools don't even think about sniffing around the fOOD.
