BITB continues to hammer this story re: Massa Seff said that KU would not play "victim", and pointing out that Bragg's defense attorney filed a motion to keep Lawrence PD's probable cause affidavit from being released to the public. BITB is correctly pointing out that this effectively keeps the victim's side of the story suppressed while allowing KU to say whatever the hell they want about that situation.

As they walked away I reminded him not to drive in Prairie Village after having a few beers...the woman with him turned and acted as if she wanted to attack me.

They're only reconfirming the blood lust, and how local law enforcement in Douglas County answers to the basketball office.

Sad, I can only imagine the misogyny taking place in that basketball dorm.

When the entire basketball team is enrolled in online classes taken for them by tutors, that leaves a lot of free time to pillage.

A good attorney will argue self-defense. A good prosecutor would charge both of them with battery. We'll see how this plays out. I'm betting on the defense attorney.

To celebrate the news KU Karl and his lovely wife KU Karla are going to leave the warm confines of their Prairie Village "looker" and go split a chicken fried steak-chicken (which is on special tonight) at the Johnny's in Corinth square . . . and Karla may order a second glass of wine.

I think this pretty much surpasses our total manipulation of Arizona law enforcement back in the day.

While I feel bad for the females in Lawrence, I to am a bit jelly of KU basketball's control of the city Lawrence, specifically it's law enforcement entities.

When they got home from Johnny's (11 locations) in PV . . . Karla being a little tipsy from that second glass of Sutter Home Pinot (single serve bottles) told Karl that she did some thinking on the ride home (she's a little envious of that Christmas wreath that Barbara Johnson down the street has above her garage and wishes Karl was a little more handy with the ladder and nails. Although that nativity scene in front of the Klimek's house, was, well, a little too Catholic) and she went on to say, "I really hope that serves as a lesson to all the girls in Lawrence that they need to keep their mouths shut about our boys". Karl agreed, and mumbled something about her having it coming as he put his London Fog leather jacket on the coat hook next to the front door.

Went and got a beer with a buddy who's a KU fan, he couldn't stop crowing about the arrest of that battery victim, and how stupid BITB was for discussing the issue. I explained to him that in most jurisdictions, Bragg would also be charged with battery, but Lawrence being a subdivision of KU, the prosecutors office protected KU BB.

He also said that the victim tripped and "fell down the stairs" on her own. He didn't believe me when I said she fell UP some stairs, which is the result of being pushed by someone.....he disputed this heartily. I guess he doesn't have access to the same info...

I'm trying to decide which is more classic KU.

When Roy Williams called that press conference to tell everyone he wasn't recruiting Rush, or the Douglas County DA actually issuing a press release on the Bragg situation.

I will say props to KU for understanding the collective psyche of the KU Karls/Karla's of the world who will rub their hands raw with collective angst, or pop blood vessels in abject rage at the thought of bad publicity for their basketball program. While not quite in the same league, this has been a small re-hasing of the "I'm stayin" validation and affirmation press conference that literally had KU T-Shirt nation in tears of joy.

Sad and pathetic on one level, absolutely brilliant on another.
