I think he usually lies because he thinks it will benefit him but I don't see how this would benefit him (or how he would think it would benefit him). although Phil's explanation makes a little sense.

Agreed. I don’t see the need to use HCQ as a prophylaxis as I’m not high risk for contracting COVID and I generally avoid prescription medications.

With that said, I’ve been very forthright from the outset that if I did become infected with COVID that I’d strongly suggest if not outright demand the HCQ/azithromyacin/zinc regimen from a healthcare provider.
