All those schools just pimped themselves out to be told that they aren't good enough to be Iowa State.

agree with _33 and MIR

I don't want a home schedule slightly better than what Nebraska currently has.  Playing games that mean something against tradition rich teams is important.

You say that, but Nebraska is in the top ten. If we only got to play one of UT and OU every year I don't think that would be enough to tarnish that top ten ranking.

You only play one of them every year if you are fortunate enough to not have them both on the same rotation.

It depends on how they set it up.  When the Big12 was originally set up they picked the what they thought would be the 2 strongest teams in each division and split them for every team on the other side.  They picked UT/A&M and Neb/Colorado.  Of course that only works was when you play 1/2 the other division every year.

I am afraid OU and UT will want the Big 12 South back for the extra noncon, 13 data point and "best division in football" talking point.

I imagine the wvu, isu and Kansas schools would only give it to them in exchange for a new gor.  For me that Grant of Rights would need to be at least 25 years to trade Austin and Norman for Provo & Cincinnati and that is still a shitty trade.  The no new GoR comments from Austin are scary.

West

ISU
KSU
OU
Tech
TCU

East

WVU
KU
OSU
UT
BU

2 Texas, 1 Okie, and 1 Kansas team in each division, seems competitive for football, you'd have the chance for OU/UT champ game or some instate rivalry rematches in the champ game like OU/OSU or BU/TCU or K-State/KU (lol)

MIR is right. We are not getting demoted. No one will be demoted. Baylor and ISU are more likely to be than us but they probably won't be either.

The mindset of K-State fans who think TCU, Tech, OSU, and WVU have some kind of national appeal that we don't is mystifying to me. How do you fix your head to come up with such a scenario.

No one chicken littles like ksu fans

I think there are two general rules in realignment that are unlikely to be broken:

1. State schools breaking up. Has not happened.
2. Schools getting demoted. Has not happened.

When it all shakes out, if you had a spot, you will continue to have a spot. For nothing other than liability reasons. The reason why Baylor was threatening to sue last time was because they had a case. If a school breaks up a conference and as a product another school loses millions and millions of dollars, then there's gonna be liability. So it's in the best interest of everyone that everyone stays P5.
