Skateboarding
« on: October 16, 2016, 08:10:45 AM »
A friend and I are going to take a stab at longboarding today. We will looking to buy some boards, helmets, and gloves in KCMO. Has anyone suggestions on where to look?

My advice: Take your insurance card with you.

Change of plans. Apparently KC has this cool new thing called disc golf courses. I'm going to get on that instead. I'll invest a skateboard after my snowboarding trip this winter.

For skateboards, you have thousands more options online than in a little skate shop. Just read up on some equipment basics regarding how you plan to use it. For example, if you're just going to be cruising around on sidewalks, you'll want big, soft wheels.

Escapist on Southwest Boulevard is where I buy my skate stuff.  Warehouse Skateboards online is good too.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

you're welcome- a cool thing about the Warehouse Skateboards site is that they have buying guides for the components (wheels, decks, trucks, etc)

I think I'll end up getting a shortboard in the spring. Longboards seem silly to me now. I could get more use and fun and injury with a shortboard
