So pence said in an interview that they will "absolutely" be walking back pro-lgbt stuff Obama has done. Great job "not racists" and "not homophobes" in voting for this bad person

 :goodbyecruelworld:

Pence is a stupid bigot and if I hear one more person refer to him as a "good man" I'm going to rage. His most dangerous tool is his mouth and now he has a large platform to spread his bullshit. Obama didn't do much of anything pro LGBT, the supreme court did. This isn't his shitty cowpatch called Indiana, he isn't undoing a rough ridin' thing when it comes to LGBT rights. He could run Indiana like a bigoted Banana Republic, as VP he can't do a rough ridin' thing.

The silver lining with Pence is that even if you disagree with his positions, he's a good man.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

Trump's supporters aren't necessarily all racist misogynist homophobes, but they definitely supported one.

I supposed I can understand that feeling. I think the fears are a bit over-blown though. Everyone probably just needs to relax a bit...  If anyone really needs to be blamed here it's Joe Biden.
What specific fears are overblown?

You can't have a overblown fear; fear is in the eye of the beholder. Some people have a warped sense of what the fallout of what the next four years will be but its understandable because they're scared. Trump's rhetoric did this as he needs to fix it. I didn't vote for Hillary but people didn't fear that their rights would be infringed upon during a Hillary Clinton presidency.

Really?  Maybe fear is a strong word, there was certainly some concern there.

Enlighten me as to what rights could be perceived as under siege because of the words of Hillary Clinton. To save time and bullshit don't even say a word about the second amendment because she has never threatened to repeal that, let's not carry the water for the NRA.

She has proposed policy that would violate the 2nd amendment, such as preventing people on a no-fly list for example from being able to purchase a firearm.  I actually think Trump may have gone that way too, late.

And rusty nailed the privacy concern.  I don't think Trump will be worse than Hillary would have been.  I could be wrong though.  Tough to say without seeing a cabinet first.

That doesn't violate the second amendment, jfc.

I think that in at least some instances it does. It sort of depends on how you ended up on the no fly list. It's awkward to me to deny the rights of somebody who hasn't even had a trial or been convicted of anything.

Dickstone, the trump TV could still happen.  Don was setting that up with his Son In Law, apparently.

Ammon could still get his show!

I'm sad.
I'm sad that there are so many racist, misogynist, homophobes that Trump could get this many votes. I thought we were moving past that.
I'm sad that suburban white women would use the privileged afforded to them by the suffering of many women before them to vote for someone who hates them.
I'm sad that the third party voters thought it was more important to make a statement than to protect their fellow Americans from policies that could take away their rights and dignity as human beings.
I'm sad that my lesbian friend is afraid she won't have the chance to marry her girlfriend. I'm sad that my transgender friend is fearful that future legislation will not protect them.
I'm sad that there is the possibility that American women in the future will have to consider unsafe illegal abortions.

I'm sad that many of those assholes are my own family members.
I'm really sad that my dad would have been the only family member I could have commiserated with and I can't call him.

Hi MrsG, couple things...
1. I'm really sorry you can't talk to your dad about this. My political discussion with my dad are one of the things I cherish most, so I'm really sorry you've lost that. But I bet if you really think and pray on it, he can still speak to you.
2. Check out my silver linings post - there really are some. http://goEMAW.com/forum/index.php?topic=38336.0
3. Things seem bad now, but they're really not as bad as you depict. Your gay friend has nothing to fear. Abortion rights will remain largely untouched. And while I know you can't see it now, those people you are calling racists, misogynists (all of whom have mothers, sisters, daughters, etc.), and homophobes had very legitimate reasons to vote against Hillary Clinton, and even for Donald Trump.

Keep your head up.
oh boy

Denied, he's a piece of crap. Remember the shitty relationship Dick Cheney had with the rest of the administration, the public, and the press? Pence will be that x10. eff Mike Pence, I hope someone stabs him with an AIDS needle.

Quote
In 1996, Pence wrote a column (dug up by Ari Rabin-Havt) for the Indiana Policy Review, the magazine of a think tank (by the same name) Pence once ran. In it, Pence lamented the Republican Party’s ‘96 convention and its softer approach, by comparison,  toward minorities. Pence pined for the days of the infamous ‘92 “culture war” convention, where virulent homophobe and nativist Pat Buchanan delivered a fire and brimstone jeremiad in prime time that sent a jolt through the electorate and, some believe, helped sink George H.W. Bush’s re-election that year.

Pence lamented that the ‘96 convention supposedly spotlighted “an endless line of pro-choice women, AIDS activists and proponents of affirmative action” — not-so-subtle code for feminists, gays and blacks — which was textbook hyperbole, since there was hardly an “endless line” of such people. Mary Fischer, for example, a Republican woman with AIDS, was the first and only AIDS activist to speak that year at the Republican National Convention. But that was clearly one too many for Pence

Quote
He also said, “Congress should oppose any effort to recognize homosexuals as a ‘discreet and insular minority’ entitled to the protection of anti-discrimination laws similar to those extended to women and ethnic minorities.”

eff Mike Pence, if its announced tomorrow that he has a massive heart attack or a terminal illness, I'll throw a huge kegger.

My wife is in a book club, I'm sure some of them are passable. Most of the women I know might be too young for you. They're all iowans though, you may want to hold out for some chicks from Arkansas, Oklahoma, Idaho, West Virginia, or Kentucky though.

Like, just look at the trump voters on this board. Cat27, fanning, dax, fsd, shellsquawk, racistwillie, stunz, etc...  They all have shown very weird racial hangups, particularly towards blacks.

Get over yourself...i'm neither a racist or sexist and neither are 95% of the Republicans that voted for Trump. We were/are tired of the current flawed system and want some substantial change.

I'm good for it, we just need a natural death of Mike Pence sometime before January 20, 2017. The theme of the party will be "Ding Dong the Dick is Dead."

The primary results indicate that the number is somewhere around 50%.

95% might have been a high point...juices were flowing though so i shot from the hip. We can agree that the number is definitely lower than 95%.

She should report this to the police. Any evidence it actually happened? Fake hate crimes aren't unusual and wouldn't surprise me at all the day after such a traumatic win for "the hateful bigot."

I'm a little disappointed by this. Aside from co-signing the repugnant language, can't you muster a little bit of empathy, for at least 24 hours? Let people deal with this how they can, it isn't rough ridin' hurting you.
