i think it will rot from the ground up. amateur athletes will stop playing it for free, high schools will stop fielding teams when the courts decide they can be liable for sponsoring an activity known to be dangerous. etc. you'll still have pros willing and able to destroy their bodies for pay, but it will wither.

I agree something like this will eventually happen, but I don't see how it could destroy football within 15 years. A lot of kids that play football currently see it as their only means to an education or even career. If High Schools stopped offering it within the next few years (which I really doubt), some other farm system would spring up to fill the void.

At the very end (Texas was behind) Texas punted and tried to hold Cal, who on third and short broke a run all the way to the end zone but did that stupid back handed flip right before he crossed the goal line. Texas guy picked it up in the end zone but the replay refs ruled it was not an immediate recovery so still Cal's ball.

Replay refs also missed a pretty obvious incomplete pass that led to a Cal score earlier, but not that big of a deal.
