Come to Wichita and I will take you to a ranges that will let you try whatever make and model you want. no rental fee you just have to buy there ammo (not ridiculously priced either).

Hmmm

I have survived the couple of trips that I have made down there to hang out with the Gooches. Do it.

The .308 AR might actually give him a shoulder bruise.

Rifles and shotguns have way more utility than handguns.

I think an items utility should be central when deciding on any purchase.

If you aren't concerned with an item's utility when making a purchase, might i suggest considering the SLOTDOG in the near future.

Please.  It's a short action caliber in a semi auto gas powered platform.  A goddamned baby could shoot that and not drop its pacie.

here is the repeat enjoyability ranking of guns for non-hunters:

1. ruger 10/22 with a few 30rd magazines
2. a .22 pistol
3. 870 youth model
4. .308 that you sight in at 800yds
5. a dedicated trap shooting gun
6. a dumb pistol that you shoot twice and then only bring out of its case to show your friends after a couple beers

everything after the first 3 is more expensive and requires a lot more effort to enjoy

I'm thinking that the Dirty Harry gun looks a little more scary and intimidating than the Sonny Crockett gun. If you have that gun, you seem like you'd be a little more dedicated to being a killer.

General rule is Harry's gun, and Sonny's car/boat/alligator.

The ruger .22 with the banana clip is a blast to shoot.

A buddy and I used to go to this railroad trestle when we were kids, when the creek below was frozen.  We'd shoot up some ice with his 20ga, then toss the spent shells onto the ice, and then shoot the brass with the Ruger 10/22.  Those shells would fly 20 feet up in the air sometimes.  Really fun.

Picked up a Taurus  PT 111 G2 today. $250 with a sticky holster. Heck of a deal if you're still contemplating a handgun .

I've shot a gun one time.  It was some sort of rifle. Shot at some Pepsi cans.  One of the bullets I shot went right through the circle Pepsi logo.  Aim small, miss small.

Food for thought:  do you have any pockets of time in your history that you cannot fully recall?  If so, you might be a highly trained sleeper agent of some sort.  It will probably kick in of you are ever in a life threatening situ, so let that be of comfort to you and your family.  Grats, bro.

You're probably right Pete because a few weeks ago I stood up to get out of my car and my phone was on my lap and started to fall to the ground and I hacky sack kicked it with the side of my foot and then caught it before it hit the pavement. That's a true story.

OK.  Most reasonable next step for you is to stake out a safe house where you can take cover WHEN they discover that you are now "aware."  Also, you almost certainly can speak other languages, you just don't know it yet.  Try watching some foreign films and/or eastern block porn  or something and see which ones start making sense to you.  This will come in handy when you need to flee the country.

No offense bro, but that's a stupid question.  On a huge gun blog like this one, it's a given that we do.  You can just skip to your specific question about your heater of choice and sit back and drink in the ocean of gun knowledge that will come your way.

Very Truly Yours in Gun Ownership,

Pete
