From Breitbart reports this killerguy dabbled in the homosexual lifestyle.  I contend he hated himself and did this to work his way back into the grace of allah.  Islums believe you work your way to heaven by doing deeds on earth and living a pious life void of certain moral sins sucb as homosexuality.  If the reports are true he likely was trying to attone for his sin.

That religion sounds vaguely familiar

hey, i found my favorite thread of all-time. sys and trim doing work. not the lord's work, but werq. in which case, they may be gay and hopefully reno never  kills them.

This very vaguely reminds me, want to see prophets of rage on 9/10 if you'll be back by then?

I don't know who that is, but I will def be back by then. Bristol Bay season is relatively short compared to other fisheries in AK.

It's way out in auburn, but still. I'm grabbing tickets next week after my buddy finds out if he can go. I'll grab an extra if you want.

Atheist are so smug.

Morgan Freeman's quote on homophobes also applies to atheists/theophobia.

Sam Harris' podcast has been talking about the end of faith in the last month or so.  I am only about an hour in so far, but he makes a pretty good point about religious moderates v religious extremists.  Basically says that the mods are violating their religion greatly and are only identifying as religious because of tradition.

Ftr, I don't consider myself an atheist, I don't consider myself anything.

As an atheist, I have met the smug atheists you pointed out.  From my perspective, I liken it to the kids that found out Santa Claus isn't real.  "Can you believe, Jerry still believes in Santa" At the same time knowing before they saw mommy shoving presents under the tree, xmas seemed simpler, more enjoyable.  Eventually they come to terms with it, realize what xmas is supposed to be about and the smugness dissipates. - I realize this analogy can be perceived as smug, but just putting it in the perspective of a non-believer.

I personally don't care what you believe as long as it makes you feel grounded with a purpose and you don't wrong others.
I'm not inclined to believe that being pious makes you a better person than someone who isn't or vice versa.

And then there are the ones that just believe they are smarter than you and complete d-bags.  We all have them.

I would be remiss however, if I didn't mention the eye rolling I do when an athlete/actor/musician, etc... thanks God for their victory/oscar/grammy.
