I think a lot of the bitterness about the offense is stemming from beyond last year -- probably still some hard feelings about the Sams/Waters stuff. But the Waters era (and obviously the Klein era) offenses were really effective offenses. If Ertz (or whoever) is capable this year, I think we have some decent talent at WR, and I think Dimel could put together another top 40-50 offense.
Relooking at the numbers last year, it's pretty crazy we were able to scrape as many wins as we did. We were ranked 100+ in both offensive and defensive ypp.
In any event, if the defense is capable (which it's projected to be...at least talent-wise), I'm willing to give our offense the benefit of the doubt -- especially in a weaker big 12.
