I once heard an interview with a guy who said that occasionally while dreaming he becomes aware he's doing so and then he automatically Flys (like superman) to a beautiful woman and rips her clothes off and rapes her

If he were better at lucid dreaming, he could imagine the beautiful lady actually wants to do him instead.

Well in his lucid state he could have gone with consensual banging but chose rape instead.

Pretty sure I've done it before without really trying. I rarely remember my dreams though (like, ever).

I always dream that I am looking for and cannot find a restroom so the next time that I cannot find a restroom, I am going to try to fly to see if it is a dream.

I think I've posted about this before, but in every dream I can remember I know I'm dreaming.  I can kinda/sorta control them.  Sometimes I can't, but I'll do stuff in them knowing there are no consequences.  If I'm in a nightmare I can't control, I'll wake myself up.  I also used to do that thing where you open you eyes when you're dreaming and half wake up paralyzed but still in the dream.  After watching Signs one night I opened my eyes mid-dream to the aliens in my room, but knew it wasn't real.

How do you check to see if you are dreaming if you aren't aware you're dreaming. It seems if you do the check then the result of the check doesn't matter because you already controlled the dream

Do you always think you are dreaming? Do you think you might be dreaming right now?

What if we're all lucid dreaming right now and this thread isn't real and we're actually posting in the other lucid dreaming thread?    :runaway:

I've had a couple in my life. I usually realize something is wrong and that it can't be real and come to the realization it's not and I'm dreaming. It pretty much turns to porn at that point, but doesn't last too long before I wake up.

I may try those methods in the link above. Lucid dreaming is pretty awesome.

a board hobby of mine is to take a topic that was already discussed (but in a poor way) and generate a new discussion about it that is better.

That's a pretty good hobby Rick and this thread is already way better than the previous one.

One time I had a lucid dream where I was doing a crossword puzzle and the letters and spaces would change to fit no matter what I wrote in.  In other words, I need to practice so I can change the dream to something more awesome than doing crossword puzzles.

Rick, several podcasts I have heard in the last month or so say that if you take a certain supplement by Onnit called Alphabrain, it causes lucid dreams.  That isn't the primary thing it's sold for, it is a side effect, supposedly.  I have not used it and don't plan to, but hey, take one before bed and try it out.

I never even consider the possibility that I'm dreaming during a dream.  I'm just like this is definitely real life and all this super weird stuff is totally normal and then I wake up and I'm like, oh duh.
