can confirm JW's take medicine like normal people

My wife's grandfather is an Elder, and he has survived cancer four or five times.  He's had radiation so much they refuse to give it to him any longer.

Her grandmother died of cancer a few years back, and she had chemo, radiation, etc.

I will say that they were very much into home remedies that they pulled from the Bible for basic stuff.  She always told me to rub olive oil on myself like the guy in My Big Fat Greek Wedding told people to put Windex on stuff.

The more I think about it, I want Netflix to do a 10 episode Prince docu-series with all that footage

the producer who told kevin smith that his documentary would never see the light of day also told him that there were 50 unreleased prince videos. like professionally done and unreleased, just sitting in a vault. that was ten years ago.

I don't know if Kevin Smith's documentary counts, but I thought I read there were two full-length feature films in the vault as well.

It's going to be nuts to see the mythology of this vault evolve over time.  If folks ever get to crack into it, I hope it lives up to the hype.

I guess Prince told someone there's a lot of stuff in there that's better than what he gave to the record companies, and there is enough material to release over 100 LP's.

the prince ping pong story fallon told last night was v funny.

The video of Prince performing at the SNL anniversary after party was really cool to. Fallon was wasted.

yes that was pretty cool. also, maya rudolph was also onstage singing backup and she has her own prince cover band so that had to be pretty cool for her.

I never took you for a tabloid/TMZ type of guy. Pretty interesting.

Fallon goes out for a few beers after a show. Random guy captures it on his iphone. Next day tabloid: "Fallon, RAGING ALCOHOLIC! WHEN WILL HE STOP?!"

His sister just said there was no will that she knew about so it looks like the siblings will divide the estate in the courts.  Hard to believe that everything in the vault won't be sold off to the highest bidder in this scenario.

I am surprised that Prince didn't have a will if only to outline his wishes for all of this stuff.

Yeah, I love Fallon, but there is a lot of stuff out there on this.

Also, we have a thread for Fallon, I probably shouldn't have mentioned him in Prince's thread.

The mormon-ish girl on real world clark county has been doing this.  I thought it was related to her being a dumb southerner, not religion.

ms tobias' dad is an elder and they're not really into that stuff, but that may be more related to her mom and sister both being nurses than anything else

She said on the first episode that the olive oil gives her a better tan. Also I went to the GoldSpike when I went to Vegas last month, no casino :surprised:

I didn't deep-dive fact check her on it.  I just smiled and nodded.  She was a nice lady, and I was very fond of her.  In fact, we gave our son her husband's name as a middle name because he's such a solid dude.

Most JW's that I've met are not anywhere near their stereotype.  I've even been to a service of theirs.  It's interesting to see as a non-believer, but after going to services for multiple denominations, and reading the book of Mormon in a hotel room while I was bored, they were probably the most grounded and consistent group of Christians I've met.  I can easily see how Prince reconciled who he was with their style.

That sounds about right. When I lived in Minneapolis I knew a guy who toured with Prince for a little while and apparently they recorded tons and tons of stuff and Prince would feel great about it but then an hour later would demand that it all be scrapped or vaulted or whatever. Remember him telling me they recorded a bunch of live footage in Japan and the videographers knew Prince would tell them to destroy it later that night so they high-tailed it out of Japan with the tapes right after the show

If you have this weird AXS channel, watch or DVR this documentary on Tuesday.  I DVR'd it when it first aired a few weeks back and am halfway through it.  Pretty good.

There's been a marathon of heavy metal festivals this weekend.  Lots of slipknot types in heavy masks of facepaint in bright sunlight afternoons.

Why wasn't Prince at the 1985 We Are The World mega song live VHS?
